Canadian Fans Top Global Search Rankings For World Cup 2026 Tickets

With the 2026 World Cup now just days away, Canada has cemented its position as the world’s most ticket-hungry nation.
New analysis of Google search data by Gambling.com reveals Canadian fans generate 337 searches per million people each month for “World Cup tickets”.
That's nearly twice the rate of co-hosts the United States (181 per million) and almost four times the rate of the highest-ranked non-host nation, Norway (88 per million).
The study analysed monthly English-language search volumes across all 48 qualified nations and indexed them against population.
While the US leads the way in raw volume with 63,000 monthly searches, it is Canadian football fans who are working hardest per head to get through the stadium turnstiles this summer.
Host Nations Hungry To Play Their Part
Canada and the United States took the top two per-capita spots by a wide margin, while Mexico, the third co-host, ranked much lower, likely because Mexican fans are searching in Spanish.
Completing the top three with 500 monthly searches from a population of just 5.7 million, is Norway.
Norway generated 87.7 searches per million more than any non-host nation and up from their fourth place position in April, reflecting growing excitement ahead of their first World Cup since 1998.
Can Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will hope to continue the form he continually shows in the Premier League.
Qatar, the 2022 hosts, ranked fourth per capita (83.3 searches per million), which suggests hosting the tournament created an enduring appetite for live football.
Qatar will hope to do better this summer, after finishing bottom of their group four years ago with three defeats in their three matches.
Bosnia and Herzegovina made it to the tournament thanks to back-to-back penalty shootouts against Wales and Italy and they ranked eighth per capita.
The country's 3.2 million population is generating outsized search interest ahead of what will be the nation’s second-ever World Cup appearance.
Big Hitters Ranked In Lower Half
Brazil, Germany, France and Spain are all among the favourites to win this summer's tournament, but they all rank in the bottom half when adjusted for population.
These nations’ fans likely search in their native languages, but the gap highlights where English-language ticket demand is most concentrated.
This summer's tournament is the first to feature 48 nations and will be played over 104 matches in 16 venues in the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19.
Over 500 million ticket requests were made during its Random Selection Draw window (December 2025 to January 2026).
Colombia, England, Ecuador, Brazil and Argentina topped the official application figures beyond the host nations.
