Saturday's Both Teams To Score Tips: On Board With Blues Again In 7/1 Acca

The start of a new month brings renewed hope for this weekend’s both teams to score tips ahead of the next international break.

September proved to be a lean one for The Panel, but they are still in profit to the tune of 15 points thanks to 12/1 and 8/1 winning accas during August.

Nine of the 10 Premier League games played last weekend involved goals at both ends, although surprisingly the top flight has the lowest percentage of the four divisions this season, unlike 2024/25 when it was a runaway winner.

The Panel reckon that could start to change soon and have picked out a couple of games from the Premier League for Saturday’s BTTS tips which can be backed at close to 7/1 in a four-fold on betting sites.

BTTS Tips: Chelsea vs Liverpool (5.30pm)

Normally, The Panel select four games from the 3pm fixtures, but this week they are making an exception for the tea-time kick-off between Chelsea and Liverpool, which also happens to be the free-to-play Premier League Picks match where £10,000 is up for grabs.

There was a 13-month spell between 2022-23 when these teams played out four successive goalless draws in all competitions, including two cup finals, but that all seems to be in the past.

Liverpool’s perfect start to the season ended last Saturday with a 2-1 defeat at Crystal Palace which they followed with a dispiriting 1-0 defeat at Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Arne Slot’s decision to leave Mohamed Salah on the bench clearly backfired in a game which saw goalkeeper Alisson and striker Hugo Ekitike go off with injuries.

Ekitike is suspended for this match in any case, so Alexander Isak is set to lead the line against a Chelsea team that have conceded at least twice in their last three matches and will be without key centre-back Trevoh Chalobah.

The Blues are already missing defenders Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana and Tosin Adarabioyo, so the Reds should get opportunities.

The last four Premier League encounters between these teams have ticked the BTTS box and Liverpool have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five matches in all competitions, so the Panel like this match at 1/2 with several football betting sites.

The Panel's Saturday BTTS Predictions: October 4

(Odds correct at time of publication - 2.30pm 02/10/25)

Both Teams To Score Acca: Manchester United Vs Sunderland

The pressure is on Ruben Amorim this weekend as Manchester United host Sunderland, a team that went up via the play-offs and were widely expected to go down after signing 14 new players.

However, the Black Cats are only outside the Champions League spots on goal difference after six games which have yielded three wins and two draws.

Sunderland may be fifth in the table, but in Expected Goals terms (xG) they are in the lower half for attack and the quality of chances conceded. In layman’s terms, they play on the counter-attack and keep it tight at the back.

Indeed, they have kept clean sheets in 50% of their games and scored in four of their six at just over a goal per game.

Prolific they ain’t, but The Panel are more interested in the Red Devils, who have conceded in every match this season, including two first-half goals at Grimsby in the Carabao Cup.

Brentford stuck three past them last weekend, but encouragingly four of their last five Premier League games would have paid out in the both teams to score market.

It’s a slight risk, but at 4/5 with Bet365, The Panel are happy to be on board.

BTTS Predictions: Reading Vs Mansfield

Dropping into League One, The Panel are keeping faith with Reading who came good in last Saturday’s column with a 1-1 draw at Stockport at a shade under Evens.

The odds are shorter this week at 8/11 with BetMGM, but there is every chance there could be goals at both ends in the Royals’ home clash with Mansfield.

The Stags top the both teams to score table in the third tier with an 80% record from their 10 games during which they have failed to find the net just once.

Reading aren’t far behind though, with six of their last seven games hitting the BTTS bull’s-eye, which suggests both teams will score this weekend.

In last season’s corresponding fixture, the Berkshire outfit ran out 2-1 winners against Nigel Clough’s side and then won 5-1 at Field Mill in April, so recent history is also on the side of goals at both ends.

Both teams are in the top 10 for the quality of chances conceded and hopefully that trend continues on Saturday.

BTTS Acca: Salford Vs Grimsby

The final leg of this week’s both teams to score acca comes from League Two where Grimsby head to Salford in a top-five battle.

The Mariners are now the joint-top scorers in the division on the back of last week’s 7-1 demolition job on managerless Cheltenham, who had two players sent off either side of half-time.

Saturday's opponents Salford have the best BTTS record in the division at 80% and they have only once failed to score in League Two this season, a 1-0 defeat at current leaders Walsall.

Between them, these sides have kept a combined three clean sheets over the course of their 10 matches, the same number for failing to score, which bodes well.

The Red Devils are in the top four in xG terms for both attack and defence which points towards goals at both ends.

Both teams have scored in this fixture in three of the last four meetings and another looks on the cards at 16/25.

The Panel's BTTS Tips 4: Salford Vs Grimsby - 16/25 With BetMGM

* An acca on Saturday's BTTS tips is priced at 6.74/1 with BetMGM.
