Callum Wilson Next Club Odds: Hammers Head Market For Ex-Newcastle Striker

Callum Wilson waved goodbye to Newcastle in July after five seasons with the club and thoughts are turning to where he could be playing at the start of the season.
Leeds were the initial frontrunners to bring Wilson to Elland Road, but betting sites now make West Ham the favourites to sign the 33-year-old striker on a free transfer.
Despite scoring 47 goals in 113 Premier League appearances for the Magpies, injury-plagued Wilson reportedly rejected a pay-as-you-play deal with the Magpies, instead deciding to look elsewhere over the summer.
Gambling.com takes a close look at the clubs in the running and the latest Callum Wilson next club odds.

Hammers Head Queue For Wilson
West Ham are thought to have opened talks with the former Bournemouth attacker and are 5/4 favourites with football betting sites to add him to their squad.
Manager Graham Potter is likely to need a new number nine this season, with Danny Ings released and Michail Antonio out of contract, although he remains in negotiations about a new deal.
The 35-year-old striker suffered a near-fatal car crash in December which resulted in surgery on a fractured lower limb, although he finally made his return to action as a substitute in a Gold Cup match for Jamaica in June.

Antonio has been given permission to use the club’s training facilities, but the parties are deadlocked in discussions about a contract.
Injury-hit Niclas Fullkrug has hardly been a success since his move from Borussia Dortmund last summer, but he is at least part of the Hammers’ pre-season tour to the USA – unlike Antonio.
The Sun reports that West Ham and Wilson are holding talks about an “incentivised deal” which ties the salary to the number of games played and as things stand the east Londoners are in the driving seat to complete a move.
Clarets Eye Wilson Swoop
Newly-promoted Burnley also hope to boost their attack by snapping up Wilson on a free transfer.
Telegraph football reporter Mike McGrath claimed the Clarets, who have already signed former Manchester City defender Kyle Walker, is an “active target” for the Lancastrians.
It is clear that manager Scott Parker is hoping to bring experienced players to Turf Moor and Wilson certainly fits the bill in that sense.
A proven goalscorer would go a long way in helping Burnley beat the drop and they are 7/4 with betting apps to wrap up a deal.
Coventry Homecoming?
Wilson may feel he still has plenty to offer in the Premier League, but is a romantic return to Coventry on the cards?
The striker started his career at his hometown club where he scored 22 goals in 49 appearances in the Championship and League One before joining Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee.
Wilson is said to have met manager Frank Lampard at the Championship club’s Ryton training base and although the nature of their chat has not been revealed, fans are optimistic it could lead to a potential move.
The Sky Blues are now third favourites at 5/2 to sign Wilson before the summer transfer deadline.
Experience Needed At Elland Road
Leeds will be hoping to consolidate themselves as a Premier League club this season and will need to add some experience to their squad.
Joel Piroe bagged 19 goals last season, but he is untested at the highest level, which will concern some fans.
Wilson would bring that much-needed Premier League know-how to the club and would be a good influence on the younger players in the squad.
Leeds were the Evens favourites to sign the former England international this summer, but they have since drifted to 3/1.
Bournemouth Return On The Cards?
Wilson's career took off after he joined Bournemouth in 2014.
He played a big role in the club's promotion to the Premier League and during their subsequent seasons in the top flight before leaving for Newcastle.
The 33-year-old is still loved by Cherries' fans and would be welcomed back with open arms at the Vitality Stadium.
He is 7/2 to return to his old haunt in the summer window.
Bees Losing Star Quality
Brentford are in a period of transition and fans are understandably concerned they could struggle in the Premier League this season.
Thomas Frank left the club to replace Ange Postecoglou as Tottenham manager and winger Bryan Mbeumo secured a high-profile move to Manchester United.
Mbeumo was part of a fantastic double act with striker Yoane Wissa, who also looks to be on the move.
That means new boss Keith Andrews is looking short of firepower and a player of Wilson’s ability would be ideal if he can stay clear of the hamstring and back injuries which have hampered the latter part of his career.
The Bees are 5/1 to sign Wilson, but don’t be surprised if those odds shorten.
Forward Essential For Toffees
Everton's fortunes turned around after David Moyes took over last season, but their lack of firepower is a worry.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin left the club after his contract ended, so the need for a new striker is even more important.
Wilson's hold-up play would be an ideal fit for Moyes' direct style, and he would be a good signing for the club as they move into their new stadium.
Everton were 5/2 to sign him ahead of next season, but other clubs now seem a more favourable destination and those odds have lengthened to 6/1.
Wolves And Forest Dark Horses
Wolves (8/1) endured a mixed time of it last season, but were much improved after Vitor Pereira took charge in December.
Wilson would be a decent signing, but the club have preferred to sign younger players with potential in recent years.
Nottingham Forest (10/1), on the other hand, built their team around an experienced core last season.
Chris Wood bagged 20 goals in the last campaign, and he knows all about Wilson from their time together at Newcastle.
Whether Nuno Espirito Santo would want two 33-year-old strikers at the club remains to be seen.
Elsewhere, a move to the MLS or Saudi Arabia can be backed at 4/1 and 9/2 respectively.
