Canadian Open Betting Tips: 5 Panel Selections From TPC Toronto

The countdown is on to next week’s US Open, but before then the PGA Tour heads to Ontario for the Canadian Open.
Most of the big guns have decided to skip the event in order to focus on the third major of the year at Shinnecock Hills.
That said, top-10 players Tommy Fleetwood (12/1) and Matt Fitzpatrick (14/1) head the market on betting sites, alongside last year’s runner-up Sam Burns (14/1), while defending champion Ryan Fox can be backed at 60/1.
The North Course at TPC Toronto is a longish par-70 at 7,389 yards and its generous fairways favoured bombers when the venue hosted the tournament for the first time last year.
Stray in the rough, though, and a tough recovery shot awaits at this course which underwent a renovation in 2023.
Conditions could be soft for the first couple of days as rain is expected in the build-up and for most of Thursday which should clear by the weekend.
Wind was also thought to be a factor, but the moderate 11-12mph breezes will become calmer as the week progresses, especially on Sunday.
With wide fairways and a potentially soft track, The Panel are focusing their attention on players with solid Strokes Gained: Off the Tee stats in a bid to recover from last week’s shocker where the less said about Alex Smalley the better.
The Panel have picked out four outrights and one top 20 for this week’s Canadian Open betting tips.
Canadian Open Predictions: Bomber Brennan Fits The Bill
One player who hits the ball a country mile is Michael Brennan, who heads to Osprey Valley buoyed by a sixth-placed finish at Colonial a couple of weeks ago.
Brennan famously won the Bank of Utah Championship on a sponsor exemption on his PGA Tour debut at the long Black Desert Resort course last year.
The 24-year-old Floridian also has experience of playing at TPC Toronto which hosted the Fortinet Cup Championship on the PGA Tour Americas in 2024.
Brennan held a one-shot lead heading into the final round only to be scuppered by a closing 74 which saw him finish in a tie for third, two strokes behind the winner, Will Cannon.
His form prior to the Charles Schwab Challenge was mediocre at best, but only Rico Hoey was better off the tee than Brennan at Colonial and his putting, which has been an Achilles heel this season, was also very good.
With a PGA Tour title under his belt and a juicy course made to be attacked, Brennan looks a decent shout at 45/1 with SpreadEx.

Canadian Open Betting Tips: Double Up On Champion Fox
Fox had a sensational 2025, winning two titles in the space of five weeks – both in play-offs.
The 39-year-old New Zealander first saw off Harry Higgs and MacKenzie Hughes in the Myrtle Beach Classic and 12 months ago won a four-hole play-off against Burns.
Fox has had a solid first six months of the season, missing the cut in just two events, the Houston Open and The Masters a couple of weeks later.
Since then, Fox has posted four tops 40s in five outings, including T35 at the USPGA Championship, so his form is reasonable without being spectacular.
His approach and tee-to-green numbers stand up to scrutiny in the last couple of months, and this is a course which suits a long hitter like Fox, who hit driver off most of the tees last year.
Successful title defences are tough, but Jim Furyk and Rory McIlroy have both achieved that at the Canadian Open this century, and there is no reason why Fox cannot add his name to that list.
Although 60/1 is available with some betting apps, The Panel are on board the 55/1 with Bet365 which is offering eight places.

Canadian Open Tips: Pendrith A Local Angle
Only two Canadians have won this tournament in its 121-year history, the latest in 2022 when Nick Taylor sparked wild celebrations by sinking a 72-footer for eagle to beat Tommy Fleetwood on the fourth play-off hole.
Taylor Pendrith, who was born just an hour’s drive away from TPC Toronto in Richmond Hill, could join Taylor in becoming another national hero this week.
Pendrith is one of the longest hitters on the PGA Tour with an average of 312 yards and his SG: Off-the-Tee numbers are also good.
Last year, Pendrith finished inside the top 30 and said of the course: "I enjoy when it is soft because it makes the fairways bigger and I can carry the ball pretty far, so that is an advantage for me."
Conditions are expected to be similar this year, so hopefully he can take advantage on a course he knows like the back of his hand.
Pendrith’s form has been so-so this season, but The Panel are expecting another decent showing from him at his local course.
Like Fox, Pendrith can also be backed at 55/1 with Bet365.

Canadian Open Betting Tips: Keefer A Big Hitter
Rookie Johnny Keefer missed the cut here 12 months ago, but like Brennan he also finished in a tie for third at the Fortinet Cup Championship on this course in 2024.
As well as being very long off the tee, Keefer’s SG: Approach numbers are excellent, as he demonstrated at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson a few weeks ago.
Keefer was the fifth best for that metric at TPC Craig Ranch and a brilliant closing eight-under-par 63 ensured ninth spot overall.
Another encouraging display at Colonial saw him strong off the tee and for approach only for a Sunday 73 to leave him in a share for 35th spot.
Up against a weakened field at a course which should suit his game, Keefer looks worth a punt at 70/1.

Canadian Open Top-20 Tips: Suber Can Motor
Sky Bet once again has some decent prices in the top-20 market and The Panel are drawn towards Jackson Suber at 13/2.
The 26-year-old from Baltimore has posted two top 20s in his last three outings (T19 at the Myrtle Beach Classic and outright fourth at the Byron Nelson), so his form is decent heading to Toronto.
Interestingly, he finished inside the top 20 on his Canadian Open debut last year on the back of a great long game (+1.32 for approach, the ninth best).
Suber is not overly long, but he hits the ball over 300 yards from off the tee and he is inside the top 20 for SG: Approach.
He may not win this week, but his form is heading in an upward trajectory and another top 20 is certainly not beyond him.
