After Manchester City and Arsenal’s DGW23, we now approach Game Week 24 and it’s back to normal in terms of each club having one fixture each as betting sites also have odds at the ready.

However, FPL managers should take a longer-term view considering that there are several “blanks” and “doubles” on the horizon which need to come into our thinking right now.

Indeed, many managers will be saving their free transfer and rolling it into GW25 to make sure they’re able to successfully navigate through the fixture complication.

There are four teams with a DGW when it comes to 25 and four others that have a blank.

Saving an FT this week means that you can make two free transfers a week down the line or even take a -4 points hit in order to make three changes.

When Is The Game Week 24 Transfer Deadline?

The Game Week 24 transfer deadline is 11am on Saturday, February 18, shortly before the lunchtime clash between Aston Villa and Arsenal.

Which Teams Have The Best FPL Fixtures For GW24 And Beyond?

ARSENAL might have experienced a few bumps in the road recently, although it’s hard to ignore their fixtures which includes a Double Game Week 25. For GW24, they travel to Aston Villa before Leicester (away) and Everton (home).

Between GW26 and GW29, the Gunners then have three home fixtures against Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Leeds United - who are all in a battle against Premier League relegation.

FPL managers have been shedding LIVERPOOL assets in recent weeks, but the Reds also have a double in GW25.

After a GW24 trip to St James’ Park, Jurgen Klopp’s side then have a trip to Selhurst Park before entertaining Wolves. There is then a home clash against Manchester United before a trip to Bournemouth.

EVERTON players might not have been on your radar up to now, however the Toffees have a home clash against Leeds in GW24 before a DGW that includes Aston Villa at home and Arsenal away.

Sean Dyche’s side then face Nottingham Forest and Brentford, with defensive players certainly catching the eye.

Similarly, WOLVES are the final of the quartet to enjoy a DGW25 and some will be attracted to their GW24 fixture against Bournemouth before taking to the road to play Fulham and Liverpool.

You should also be aware that Manchester United, Newcastle, Brentford and Brighton are going to blank in Game Week 25.

Who Are the Best GW24 Players to Buy?

Defenders

We’ve established that Manchester United, Newcastle, Brentford and Brighton are blanking in GW25 so let’s look away from those four teams.

It was noticeable that REECE JAMES (£5.8m) played the full game at West Ham and the Chelsea defender could get some decent hauls considering he plays Southampton and Leeds at home in two of the next three games.

For those looking for a cheaper alternative, JAMES TARKOWSKI (£4.2m) scored Everton’s winner at home to Arsenal and the former Burnley central defender could help the Toffees achieve plenty more clean sheets.

Similarly, MAX KILMAN (£4.3m) has been ever-present for an improving Wolves team this season and he recently scored 11 points in a match against Liverpool.

Midfielders

Although many went for Kevin de Bruyne last week, there has now been a switch to RIYAD MAHREZ (£7.8m) and that is for several reasons.

The Algerian is not only relatively cheap, but it also appears that he’s on penalties for Manchester City and that enabled the winger to rack up 12 points against Aston Villa in GW23.

Another appealing FPL asset is BUKAYO SAKA (£8.3m) - who is near the top of the PFA Young Player of the Year award odds.

The winger runs the show from an attacking point-of-view and looks the best option for this team right now, especially as Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard are competing for one position.

Saka is also on spot kicks for a Gunners side with some favourable opponents.

JAMES MADDISON (£8.0m) has returned from injury to make quite the impact and he’s collected 18 points from his past two games.

The Leicester midfielder tends to be a reliable source of points when fit and his team’s recent improvement means that he is definitely one for the shortlist.

Forwards

JOAO FELIX (£7.5m) was sent off on his Chelsea debut, but the Portuguese attacker made a scoring return to the team against West Ham and he’s the most signed forward during the current Game Week.

He would certainly be a good differential and Chelsea have some highly winnable matches coming up.

Resist the temptation to sign Ivan Toney considering that Brentford blank in GW25 and perhaps KELECHI IHEANACHO (£6.1m) who has finally displayed Jamie Vardy as the main Leicester City striker may be the way to go.

The Nigerian is part of a Foxes team who have scored eight goals in two matches, and he has managed more points (27) in these two games than his previous 21 GW’s combined.

Who Are the Best GW24 Players to Sell?

Defenders

It’s no surprise to see Newcastle United defenders exiting Fantasy Premier League teams right now.

On the basis that many own the points magnet that is Kieran Trippier, it stands to reason that FABIAN SCHAR and SVEN BOTMAN are surplus to requirements as the Magpies seek a place in the Premier League top four

The Magpies have stopped keeping clean sheets and they have an EFL Cup final coming up against Manchester United which means a blank in GW25.

Midfielders

GABRIEL MARTINELLI has managed just 13 points in his past five Game Weeks and the Brazilian’s place in the Arsenal team is under increasing pressure from Leandro Trossard.

It therefore stands to reason that managers are replacing the winger and choosing an alternative pick like Bukayo Saka or Martin Odegaard.

Meanwhile, MIGUEL ALMIRON might have returned to the scoresheet at Bournemouth although the Paraguayan is still making a sharp exit ahead of this Game Week.

Miguel Almiron

Newcastle face Liverpool before blanking and he also has a wrist injury which could see him being used sparingly before Wembley.

Several managers rolled the dice and opted for KEVIN DE BRUYNE in the previous Game Week, but the Belgian has blown hot and cold despite his big haul at the Emirates Stadium.

The Manchester City midfielder is likely to be sold in volume before the deadline, with BRUNO FERNANDES also an expensive asset which may have now served his purpose.

Forwards

ALEKSANDR MITROVIC is the most-sold forward ahead of the GW24 deadline and the Fulham forward has performed badly in FPL over the past six weeks.

The Cottagers’ fixtures are starting to turn difficult and it’s increasingly hard to keep the faith with a striker who might not even be on penalty duties for his team.

CALLUM WILSON is proving injury-prone once again and missed last weekend’s trip to Bournemouth, with Newcastle likely to make sure his hamstring is ready for the big League Cup final showdown against Manchester United.

Who Should Be Captain For Game Week 23?

Erling Haaland's has been inconsistent for Manchester City in recent weeks, but the Norwegian returned to the scoresheet at the Emirates and put in a masterful centre forward performance against Arsenal.

It’s hard to avoid siding with him even if he might be used sparingly at the City Ground.

Arsenal might be able to score a few goals away at Villa Park considering that their opponents have conceded seven times in the past two matches.

This brings Bukayo Saka sharply into focus, with the prolific Marcus Rashford having achieved 12, 8 and 8 point hauls in the past three Game Weeks.
