Cian Kirby’s Saturday Acca:
- Stratford 13.55 - St Pancras
- Uttoxeter 14.45 - Doctor Kildare
- Kempton 15.15 - Soprano
- Doncaster 16.10 - Bedouin Prince
Stratford 13.55 - St Pancras
Although flat racing takes centre stage this weekend due to the Aintree festival still being a week away, we still have some decent jumping action from Stratford and Uttoxeter on Saturday.
St Pancras was a surprise 33/1 winner in a listed race at Musselburgh in February, but it seems to have been no fluke.
He followed that up with an impressive display at Kempton a month ago.
The four-year-old was second to Mambonumberfive that day, while the highly regarded Mondo Man was back in third.
That’s the best form on offer in this race, and the Nathaniel gelding should have too much class for his rivals in the opening race at Stratford.
Uttoxeter 14.45 - Doctor Kildare
Doctor Kildare was a useful bumper horse, and after getting wind surgery in December, his form has been trending in the right direction in novice hurdles.
A fourth-place finish at Kempton was followed up by a runner-up spot at Doncaster three weeks ago, where he lost nothing in defeat behind Queensbury Boy.
The majority of his rivals seem to be struggling for form, which can’t be said for Doctor Kildare.
He should have no problem in losing his maiden tag on Saturday.
Kempton 15.15 - Soprano
The Snowdrop Fillies' Listed Stakes is the highlight event on Kempton’s card, and the high-class Soprano heads the market with betting apps.
On ratings, she looks head and shoulders above this field, with Shuwari and Crimson Advocate seemingly the only dangers.
She looks open to any progression this season, and this race presents the perfect opportunity for her to get back in the winner's enclosure.
Doncaster 16.10 - Bedouin Prince
The flat season starts slowly, but it gets into gear in Saturday's meeting at Doncaster, which hosts a competitive eight-race card.
The Lincoln Heritage Handicap is the feature race, but it’s a difficult one to predict, so we will be looking for an easier contest for the final leg of the acca.
Bedouin Prince heads the market in the Maiden Stakes with 12 runners set to go to post.
The Goldolphin-owned colt was a narrow loser on his racecourse debut at Kempton in November when being sent off the Evens favourite with horse racing betting sites.
That experience should stand him in good stead, and he can go one better at Doncaster this Saturday.
