Men's Olympic Golf Tournament Predictions: Four Selections From The Panel

Men's Olympic Golf Tournament Predictions:
- The Panel Tip 1: Tom Kim To Win (Each-Way) - 28/1 With Betfred (Five Places)
- The Panel Tip 2: Victor Perez To Win (Each-Way) - 90/1 With BetMGM (Six Places)
- The Panel Tip 3: Guido Migliozzi To Win (Each-Way) - 80/1 With William Hill (Six Places)
- The Panel Tip 4: Shubhankar Sharma Top 20 - 7/2 With Unibet
The men’s Olympic golf tournament starts on Thursday when many of the world’s best players will be competing at Le Golf National, a demanding par-71 course measuring 7,247 yards with few trees, but plenty of water hazards.
As well as hosting the French Open for many years, the Paris venue was also the scene for the 2018 Ryder Cup which saw Europe trounce the United States.
None of the big-name Americans appearing this week were part of Jim Furyk’s team from six years ago, so world number one Scottie Scheffler, Open champion Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa all head into the tournament blind in terms of the course which demands accuracy on approach and excellent scrambling skills.

Golf betting sites make Scheffler the 4/1 favourite, closely followed by defending Olympic champion Schauffele (13/2), Rory McIlroy (8/1), representing Ireland, and LIV golfer Jon Rahm (10/1) in this 60-man field.
The Panel have enjoyed some successes in recent weeks, picking Robert MacIntyre to win the Scottish Open at 45/1 and Im Sung-jae (5/1) delivered as the top Asian player at The Open Championship a fortnight ago.
Hopefully, Gambling.com’s experts can continue their run of form with four men’s Olympic golf tournament tips which start with a player familiar with the course.
Keep Kim In Mind For Golden Shot
Kim Joo-hyung, better known as Tom Kim, is one of the rising stars of the game and despite turning just 22 last month he has three PGA Tour titles to his name.
The South Korean joined an illustrious group of players missing the cut at Royal Troon in his last outing, but his form has generally been excellent.
Kim lost a play-off to Scheffler at the Travelers Championship in June and although he failed to make the weekend at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, he bounced back with a solid T15 at the Scottish Open where he had enjoyed top-six finishes in his two previous visits.
There is something of a links feel to Le Golf National and Kim at least has experience of playing here just 10 months ago when he finished sixth in his first appearance in France.
Had he not dropped five shots in the final three holes of Friday’s round, Kim would have been in contention to win the title, but he later admitted taking plenty of “positives” from the four days, adding: “At least I know the lay-out and I’m looking forward to coming back.”
The world number 20 will have learned from his mistakes on the back nine and he has a big advantage over the American heavyweights following his appearance in September.
He also has the added motivation of avoiding military service in his native country if he brings home a medal, so The Panel make Kim their headline pick at 28/1 with betting apps.
The Panel Tip 1 - Tom Kim To Win (Each-Way) - 28/1 With Betfred
Home Favourite Perez Eyes Gold
A big crowd will probably already have assembled for the first group to tee off on Thursday morning when home hope Victor Perez, now playing on the PGA Tour, will hit the first shot.
Perez has had similar experiences to Kim over the last couple of weeks, finishing 10th at the Renaissance Club before missing the cut at The Open.
Solid in the strokes gained tee-to-green and approach metrics on the PGA Tour, Perez is also very familiar with this course where he finished 16th and 30th in 2019 and 2022 respectively.
Perez admitted the opening ceremony “definitely meant a lot and enhanced the feel and the wanting for the gold medal, for sure”.
The 31-year-old Frenchman has won three European Tour titles, including the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship five years ago, and recently finished third at the Canadian Open followed by 12th at The Memorial Tournament a week later.
His form suggests he could be a contender this week and as long as he holds his nerve in front of a partisan crowd, Perez looks a decent prospect at 90/1 with new betting sites.
The Panel Tip 2: Victor Perez To Win (Each-Way) - 90/1 With BetMGM
Former French Open Champion Can Spring Shock
One player who certainly has fond memories of Le Golf National is Guido Migliozzi, who won the French Open by a shot from Rasmus Hojgaard two years ago with a sensational approach to the last.
The Italian also heads to Paris buoyed by last month’s victory at the Dutch Open, beating Joe Dean and Marcus Kinhult in a play-off.
A fourth European/DP World Tour title came just three weeks after he posted a top 10 at the European Open and a runners-up spot at the China Open in May, so his form cannot be questioned ahead of his bid for a medal.
Migliozzi has decent numbers for approach on the DP World Tour this season and although he will be up against an elite international field this week, he is at least familiar with Le Golf National and looks a decent play at 80/1 with betting sites.
The Panel Tip 3: Guido Migliozzi To Win (Each-Way) - 80/1 With William Hill
Sharma Can Shake Up Olympic Field
Shubhankar Sharma is in decent form ahead of his Olympics debut and for those of you with free bets, he appeals at 7/2 for a top-20 finish in a limited field.
The Indian stands 177th in the world rankings, but he has made the cut in his last eight tournaments and has taken his game to a new level in the last few weeks.
Third at the Italian Open, Sharma then posted a top-40 at the Scottish Open and fought back from a first-round 76 to finish 19th at Troon, so his confidence will be high for this stern test.
Sharma has never made the top 20 in his three appearances at the French Open (27-40-MC), but his approach and driving stats have been excellent this season and those are skills that will be required this week.
It may be too much to expect Sharma to have a medal placed around his neck on Sunday, but Rory Sabbatini and CT Pan unexpectedly achieved that in Tokyo three years ago and The Panel expect him to maintain his momentum by putting in a respectable performance this week.
The Panel Tip 4: Shubhankar Sharma Top 20 - 7/2 With Unibet
