Next Aberdeen Manager Odds: Gisdol Heads Tight Market

Aberdeen are searching for a new manager following the dismissal of Jimmy Thelin earlier this month after a five-game winless run.
The Dons remain in mid-table after twice losing 2-0 to title-chasing Rangers under interim manager Peter Leven, increasing pressure on the Pittodrie hierarchy to act swiftly.
St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson was the favourite last week on betting sites to fill the vacancy, but there is now a new frontrunner.
Thelin delivered major success last season when he led the club to a long-awaited Scottish Cup triumph, but results have been disappointing since then.
European results also contributed to the Swede's downfall, with the Dons second from bottom in the Europa Conference League after failing to win any of their six matches.
The question is who will be next in the Pittodrie dugout to help the club finish inside the top six when the Premiership splits after 33 games.
Here, we examine the main contenders and the latest next Aberdeen manager odds.

Gisdol Heads Dons Pack
Experienced Bundesliga boss Markus Gisdol was recently the overwhelming 4/9 favourite on betting apps to replace Thelin at Pittodrie, but his odds have drifted significantly to 4/1.
The former Hoffenheim, Hamburg and Cologne coach was sacked by Kayserispor in October, following an eight-game winless run, making him immediately available to move to Scotland.
Gisdol worked with Aberdeen's sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel at Hoffenheim and is reportedly open to talks with the Scottish outfit.
Next Aberdeen Manager Odds:
Manager | Odds | Bookmaker |
Markus Gisdol | 4/1 | |
Jens Berthel Askou | 6/1 | |
Stephen Robinson | 6/1 | |
Scott Brown | 25/1 | |
Tony Mowbray | 25/1 | |
Uwe Rosler | 33/1 | |
Ronny Deila | 33/1 | |
Steven Naismith | 33/1 | |
Neil Lennon | 33/1 |
Askou Well Fancied
Jens Berthel Askou is 6/1 for the job, despite saying last week that he is happy at Motherwell, who are fourth in the Premiership table, seven points behind Rangers and Celtic.
The Danish coach has made a massive impact at Fir Park since joining the club in the summer.
His team beat Celtic 2-0 in the final game of 2025 and have lost just one of their last 14 league games.
It would be a major challenge to convince their rivals to release him mid-season, but perhaps the lure of a bigger club may prove tempting for the ex-IFK Gothenburg coach.
Robinson Odds Lengthen
Stephen Robinson was the 6/4 favourite last week to become the next Aberdeen manager, but he is another contender to have seen his odds drift and is now 6/1.
Despite admitting it was "nice" to be linked with the vacancy, Robinson insists his sole focus is on 10th-placed St Mirren, who have lost their last four matches.
Robinson has established a strong reputation in Scottish football for steady league finishes and organisational discipline.
Aberdeen fans would welcome his appointment, but the odds suggest he is staying in Paisley.
Brown Brings Fire And Familiarity
Scott Brown would represent a popular choice at Pittodrie, having ended his playing career at the club.
The former Scotland captain had a disappointing managerial spell at Fleetwood, but he led Ayr to the Scottish Championship play-offs last season and is on course to repeat the trick in the current campaign.
Brown’s intense style and familiarity with Scottish football fit what many fans view as Aberdeen’s ideal profile.
However, his relative lack of top-flight managerial experience may count against him at this stage, and his odds have drifted substantially from 9/1 to 25/1.

Mowbray In The Mix
Despite not being in the early betting market for the next Aberdeen manager, Tony Mowbray can be backed at 25/1 with William Hill.
The veteran boss has been known to improve struggling teams throughout his career and offers the most experience among the candidates.
The 62-year-old started his full-time managerial career in Scotland with Hibernian, and also held the top job at Celtic, so he has plenty of knowledge of the SPL.
Last seen in charge of West Brom, Mowbray has been linked with other clubs in recent times and has a chance of taking the reins at Pittodrie.
Rosler Rules Himself Out
Uwe Rosler is an admirer of Pfannenstiel, who brought the German to Fortuna Dusseldorf.
However, the former Brentford and Leeds boss insists he is happy at Bundesliga 2 side Bochum, and his odds have drifted to 33/1.
Elsewhere, former Celtic boss Ronny Deila is also 33/1, having been sacked by MLS outfit Atlanta United in October.
Former Hearts boss Steven Naismith would bring a blend of club and international experience.
Naismith is part of the Scotland national team's coaching set-up, but may feel he has unfinished business in club football.
He is another outsider to fill the Aberdeen vacancy at 33/1, the same price as current Dunfermline boss Neil Lennon.
