Next Aston Villa Manager Odds: Can Glasner Revitalise The Villans?

After scoring only once in their opening five Premier League matches, there is growing speculation on football betting sites that Unai Emery could be under pressure if Aston Villa fail to improve.
Emery has delivered European football in each of the past three seasons and his dismissal would appear harsh, but the demands of the Premier League mean his position is not assured.
Villa registered their first league goal of the season away at Sunderland, but despite playing against 10 men for almost an hour, conceded a Wilson Isidor equaliser that increased frustration.
The Spaniard has described his Aston Villa team as "lazy" and called on them to "recover their identity" after their winless start to the season continued.
Reports that the club’s president of football operations, Monchi, is leaving after just over two years in the role have also added further uncertainty.
Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner currently leads the next Aston Villa manager market, but who else could be in contention should the club make a change?

Glasner Favourite Amid Palace Uncertainty
Doubts emerged over the future of Crystal Palace manager Glasner amid reports he had threatened to resign over Marc Guehi’s proposed move to Liverpool during the transfer window.
The Eagles had already sold midfielder Eberechi Eze to Arsenal in the summer, and it appeared England defender Guehi would also depart before chairman Steve Parish halted the £35million deal.
Glasner denied claims he would have left had Guehi joined the Premier League champions, saying: "I never threatened to leave the club, never. I did not have to threaten anybody. There were no bad tensions between the chairman and myself."

Glasner’s reputation has risen further after guiding Palace to the FA Cup with a 1-0 win over Manchester City, ending the club’s 164-year wait for a major trophy.
Three months later, they also won the Community Shield on penalties against Liverpool.
The Austrian, who won the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt, is 6/5 favourite on football betting sites to become the next Aston Villa manager.
Iraola Has Earned His Chance
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has impressed this season, despite losing most of his first-choice defenders during the summer and operating with one of the smallest budgets in the league.
The Cherries pushed champions Liverpool hard on the opening weekend before recording victories over Wolves, Tottenham and Brighton, results that have fuelled talk of a possible European challenge.
Iraola, who is in the final year of his contract, has avoided speculation about his future.
The Spaniard said he is concentrating on performances, describing the season ahead as a "big challenge" as he enters his third campaign at the Vitality Stadium.
That has not stopped him being priced at 7/5 to be the next Villa boss.
Marcelino The Man For Villa?
Marcelino has emerged as a name of interest should Aston Villa look to make a managerial change.
While there are no firm reports linking him directly, the Spaniard’s credentials make him a plausible option.
Currently in charge at Villarreal, Marcelino boasts a proven record in La Liga, including a Copa del Rey triumph with Valencia.
With Villa under pressure after a poor start and internal upheaval following Monchi’s exit, his tactical discipline and European experience could appeal to the board.
The 60-year-old is 2/1 on betting apps for the Aston Villa job should it become available.

Southgate Could Savour Opportunity
Gareth Southgate has not managed since stepping down as England boss after defeat by Spain in the Euro 2024 final.
The 55-year-old said he wanted a break from management, but 14 months on he is being linked with a return.
Southgate’s last role at club level was with Middlesbrough, where he was in charge from 2006 to 2009.
Despite recent struggles, Aston Villa are regarded as one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs, and such an opportunity would be tough to turn down.
Southgate is currently priced at 3/1 to succeed Emery should the Spaniard leave.
Motta May Have More To Offer
Thiago Motta is another name linked with the Aston Villa job should the board decide to make a change.
The Italian coach was dismissed by Juventus after just nine months in March following a difficult run of results, yet his reputation remains intact thanks to his previous achievements.
During his time at Bologna, Motta impressed in Serie A, demonstrating tactical flexibility and an ability to maximise with limited resources.
His mix of top-level playing experience and modern, innovative coaching could make him an appealing candidate as Villa search for stability.
Motta is also 3/1 in the market.

Nuno Never Out Of Work For Long
Nuno Espirito Santo rarely remains unemployed for long.
When Tottenham dismissed him in November 2021, he swiftly returned to management, taking charge at Nottingham Forest just weeks later.
Having been relieved of his duties at the City Ground he now finds himself at 4/1 to be the next Aston Villa boss.
Elesewhere, other names in the frame include Edin Terzic (4/1), Marco Silva (5/1), Sergio Conceicao (6/1), Kjetil Knutsen (7/1),
Meanwhile, Ipswich manager Kieran McKenna (8/1), Erik ten Hag (8/1), Robin van Persie (10/1) and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (12/1) are also linked.
