Next Bond Girl Odds: Sydney Sweeney's Price Crashes After Jeff Bezos Backing

Speculation around the next James Bond film has intensified in recent weeks, following confirmation that Denis Villeneuve will direct the new movie.
Lea Seydoux and Ana de Armas were among the female leads in 007’s last outing, the 2021 film No Time to Die, in which Daniel Craig bowed out of the suave spy role.
Since then, Amazon MGM Studios have taken creative control of the franchise. While the term "Bond girl" appears to be falling out of favour, a female lead is still expected in the next instalment.
And one familiar name has regained market favouritism on betting sites.
Sweeney’s Bond Buzz
Bond girl favourite Sydney Sweeney has remained near the top of the market since March 2024, although her odds had drifted slightly in recent weeks.
However, the Euphoria star made a resurgence after Amazon’s takeover of the franchise and Villeneuve's appointment as director.
Last year, Sweeney was pictured chatting with the Dune director and De Armas – who played Paloma in No Time to Die – at the Toronto Film Festival.
If Sweeney made a lasting impression, Villeneuve may vouch for her when casting decisions are made.

A movie source told The Sun on Sunday: “Sydney is the top name on the casting sheet for Bond.
"Denis believes she is hugely talented, as well as having an alluring appeal to younger generations – vital in modernising the franchise.
"They’ve spent a lot of time together and he has admired her stratospheric rise.
"Plus, Sydney has the quality of being athletic and able to perform physical scenes, while also being feminine and in line with the legacy of Bond girls.”
If that were not enough, she also reportedly has the backing of Amazon boss Jeff Bezos, whose wedding to Lauren Sanchez she recently attended.
According to Us Weekly, Sweeney is set to launch a new lingerie line, with Bezos and Sanchez said to be investing in the brand.
Sweeney has now emerged as the new 11/10 favourite on betting apps to be the next Bond girl, replacing Florence Pugh at the top of the market.
Pugh On The Drift
Florence Pugh has also been rumoured as a potential Bond girl for some time.
Speculation increased when Villeneuve was confirmed as director, but her odds have lengthened to 6/4, making her second favourite behind Sweeney.
Villeneuve worked with Pugh on Dune: Part Two, in which she appeared alongside former Bond stars Seydoux, Christopher Walken and Dave Bautista.
Pugh has expressed interest in a 007 role, telling Digital Spy: “I think everyone’s always interested in playing a spy, right?
"That’s something we grow up admiring – which is so strange – but it’s just a very clever and quick world that we all want to be a part of.”
Another Dune star, Zendaya, has also drifted in the odds due to Sweeney’s surge in popularity.
She is now priced at 13/8, having previously been at 6/4, while de Armas is 7/4.
Hermione's Bond Role
It won’t just be Villeneuve who has a say in the casting.
Amazon MGM Studios recently appointed new Bond producers in the shape of David Heyman, who produced all eight Harry Potter movies, and Amy Pascal, who was behind the three latest Spider-Man films.
One actress who is well known to both Heyman and Pascal is Emma Watson.
Heyman knows her well from their Harry Potter days – after Watson made a name for herself as Hermione Granger – and she also starred in the 2019 Pascal-produced film Little Women.
Other potential Bond girls in contention include 5/2 chance Rebecca Ferguson, who was directed by Villeneuve in Dune and Dune: Part Two, and Barbie star Margot Robbie (3/1).
Robbie teamed up with Heyman on the doll movie – in which she portrayed the titular character – and the 2019 comedy-drama Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
