Next Dundee Manager Odds: David Healy New Favourite For Dens Park Vacancy

David Healy has emerged as the new favourite on football betting sites to be Dundee's next permanent manager.

Tony Docherty was relieved of his duties following the conclusion of the SPFL season, despite keeping the club in the division.

Healy, fresh from guiding Linfield to their sixth Irish League title, may be looking for a new challenge and Dundee could be a perfect fit.

We take a look at some of the other contenders and the latest next Dundee manager odds.

Could Healy Be Tempted By Dundee Job?

It was only a matter of time before David Healy was courted by clubs in England and Scotland.

Healy, who ended his playing career as Northern Ireland's all-time leading goalscorer with 36, has found management as easy as putting the ball in the back of the net.

During his time at Windsor Park, Healy has led the Blues to 12 major titles, including six Irish League titles and two Irish Cups.

With his stock as high as it is right now, the 45-year-old might be tempted to give it a go in the SPFL.

It has been reported that Dundee have made an approach for Healy, who is the 5/6 favourite to be named as Docherty's replacement.

Maloney In The Mix For Dundee

Shaun Maloney was the 5/2 favourite last week, but he is now 3/1 to be the next manager in the Dundee dugout.

As an assistant at Celtic and with the Belgium national team, Maloney's first managerial role was at Hibernian in 2021.

After his sacking the following year, Dundee tried to bring him to Dens Park but were unsuccessful in their approach. Perhaps it will be second time lucky.

Maloney is on the market after his dismissal as Wigan head coach in March, and he may feel the time is right for a return to Scottish football.

Adam Available After Fleeting Fleetwood Stint

Charlie Adam is high on the list of potential managers for Dundee, despite having only one job on his CV.

His 12-month spell at Fleetwood ended just before Christmas with just 14 wins from his 49 games in charge at Highbury.

Adam ended his playing career at Dens Park, making 49 appearances for the Dark Blues, so the chance to manage his boyhood club might be too hard to resist.

The former Rangers and Liverpool midfielder is 7/2 to lead Dundee into the 2025/26 campaign.

Ketsbaia Would Liven Up The SPFL

Whatever Temuri Ketsbaia achieves in his life, he will always be remembered as the Newcastle player taking his frustrations out on an advertising board.

Since that iconic Premier League moment in 1998, Ketsbaia has tried to put that behind him by become a successful manager.

The Georgian has spent much of his managerial career in Cyprus and Greece, with limited success.

He also took charge of Georgia from 2009 to 2014 and he is 9/2 to swap his role as Cyprus manager to take over at Dens Park.

Brown's Odds Begin To Drift

Scott Brown is now 5/1 with betting apps following Docherty’s departure after being the early favourite.

A Celtic stalwart during his playing days, the former midfielder took his first managerial job with Fleetwood, before moving back north of the border to assume control at Ayr last year.

In his first full season in charge, Brown led Ayr into the play-offs. They did not make it into the Premiership, but United are bracing themselves for offers for their manager this summer.

Naismith Could Emerge As Strong Candidate

Steven Naismith was appointed Hearts manager in the summer of 2023, although his initial title was ‘technical director’ while he continued working on his coaching badges.

Naismith left in September of last year and has been out of work since.

The former attacking midfielder is no doubt itching to get back into a dugout, although he will also be looking for the right opportunity.

Dundee may ultimately decide they want someone with more experience, but Naismith is certainly a possible hire and he is 6/1 with the best betting sites.

Ferguson Set To Leave Rangers

After being appointed Rangers interim manager this season, Barry Ferguson (7/1) probably hoped that he would be able to land the job on a full-time basis.

However, Rangers announced that they will be looking for a new head coach before the start of the next campaign.

That makes Ferguson available for hire elsewhere.

Dundee may be wary of choosing someone who has no managerial experience of the Scottish Premiership outside of his stint at Rangers, a club he knows extremely well from his playing days.

Fox Heads Up List Of Outsiders

There are several outsiders for the Dundee job, including Dougie Imrie (8/1), Liam Fox (10/1), Neil Critchley (12/1) and Tony Mowbray (14/1).

Imrie could be keen on a new challenge after four years at Greenock Morton, while Fox has left Hearts, where he was interim boss.

Critchley (12/1) was in charge of Hearts before he was replaced by Fox and he might decide to wait for a better opportunity.

Mowbray (14/1) remains available after his dismissal by West Brom prior to the end of the season.
