Next Millwall Manager Odds: Who Will Replace Neil Harris At The Den?

Harris returned to The Den for a second spell as manager in February on a contract until the end of the season.

The Lions were just a point clear of the relegation zone when he was appointed, but the club's all-time leading goalscorer led them to a mid-table finish.

Now the search is already on for his replacement according to director of football Steve Gallen.

Despite a patchy run of form, the play-offs are still within reach for the south Londoners, so who will be the next man in charge of the Championship club?

We take a look at the candidates and the next Millwall manager odds.

Neil Now The Favourite

Alex Neil has emerged as the 1/10 favourite for the Millwall job after making a strong impression during discussions about The Den vacancy.

The Mirror recently reported that the 43-year-old former Stoke City manager was expected to be approached by Millwall.

The club has been in talks with several candidates since the announcement of Harris' departure earlier this month.

Neil has been available since he was sacked by Stoke back in December 2023, but boasts a wealth of Championship experience from spells with Norwich, Preston North End and Sunderland.

Schumacher Seeking Next Opportunity

The former Plymouth manager is now listed at 8/1 on betting apps to become the new Millwall boss.

In 2023 he led the Pilgrims to promotion to the Championship after a 13-year absence and he would surely relish the opportunity to prove his capabilities if given the chance.

However, his time at Stoke was short-lived, as he managed just 32 games, leaving him feeling he didn’t get a fair opportunity to succeed.

Bradley On The Brink?

Another name entering the conversation is Shamrock Rovers manager Stephen Bradley, who is now 12/1 with bookies to land the job at The Den.

The former Arsenal trainee, who spent the majority of his playing career in Ireland, has been at the helm of Rovers since 2016.

During his time there he has led them to four consecutive League of Ireland Premier Division titles between 2020 and 2023.

O'Neil Open To Opportunities

Gary O’Neil (16/1) recently became available after being dismissed by Wolves with the club fighting for their Premier League lives.

At 41, he has only managed Bournemouth and Wolves to date, but could to be an appealing candidate should he want to make the stepd down into the Championship.

Despite his age, O’Neil has plenty of experience across the top three tiers of English football, having played for the likes of West Ham, QPR, Norwich, Bristol City, and Bolton, with his playing career extending as recently as 2019.

Bloomfield Proving His Worth

Matt Bloomfield has really made a name for himself at Wycombe, who top the League One table by two points from Birmingham.

Bloomfield spent the whole of his playing career at the Buckinghamshire club, where he made almost 500 appearances in a 19-year spell, so it would take an exceptional offer to prise him away from Adams Park.

Wycombe could feasibly be in the same league as Millwall next season, but a move to E14 would still be viewed by many as a significant step-up.

Bloomfield is 16/1 with football betting sites to become the next Millwall boss.

Wagner Among Outsiders

Former Huddersfield and Norwich boss David Wagner is now 25/1 for the role along with caretaker manager David Livermore (25/1).

Wagner, 53, has been out of work since being sacked by Norwich in May, following their 4-0 aggregate play-off semi-final loss to Leeds United.

After also managing Schalke and Young Boys, in Germany and Switzerland respectively, a move to Millwall might be something of a backward step
