Nat Coombs' NFL Week 5 Tips Including Texans @ Ravens

Week 5 of the NFL season continues with 12 games on Sunday as four teams get their byes out of the way early.
The International Series moves to London for the first of three games as the Minnesota Vikings, who lost 24-21 to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Dublin last Sunday, face the Cleveland Browns at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Our resident NFL expert Nat Coombs will be there hosting Five's coverage of as well as being part of their late-game coverage.
Nat has once again shared his three best bets from Week 5 using the latest odds from BetMGM.
In a season where back-up quarterbacks have been front and centre more than usual at this stage of proceedings, two more teams are starting new faces this week as the Houston Texans take on the Ravens in Baltimore.
One is enforced, as the Ravens will be without Lamar Jackson to a short-term injury, while the other is deliberate, with the Browns moving on from veteran Joe Flacco to give a first career start to rookie Dillon Gabriel in London.
Cooper Rush will deputise for Jackson against the struggling Texans in the first of my predictions.

Texans (1-3) @ Ravens (1-3): Desperate Times Equals Points
Rush proved to be a capable, if unremarkable, understudy during his time in Dallas, where he deputised for Dak Prescott, particularly last season.
He may not seem a like-for-like schematic fit – but who is when replacing the exceptional Jackson? Rush is not exactly a prototypical dual threat quarterback.
This will change, and to an extent limit Baltimore’s ground game – as much as any ground game featuring Derrick Henry can feel limited.

However, Rush protects the ball well and the Baltimore offense will be able to land blows.
The Texans are producing solid defensive performances as advertised. It’s their offense that’s struggling.
Their offense is one dimensional and sluggish, with the apparent get-right win over a woeful Titans masking deeper seated issues.
Conversely, the Ravens have been struggling defensively (see above stats).
They have given up an average of 400+ yards per game and they are tied with the Cowboys dead last in touchdowns conceded (16).
If CJ Stroud can’t get anything going here, it really is “Say goodnight, Gracie” for the Texans, who are underdogs on NFL betting sites.

Cowboys (1-2-1) @ Jets (0-4):
Speaking of those Dallas Cowboys, they face the Jets in the Big Apple, fresh off their wild 80-point shootout tie against the Green Bay Packers - a game which represents this iteration of the Cowboys perfectly.
Dak Prescott was back under center, and even despite the loss of their star wideout Lamb, this offense can roll.
The trouble is, it’s offset by possibly the worst defense in the league right now.

The Cowboys are like an inverse Cleveland Browns (if we could mesh the two teams together, they’d be a team for the ages).
At 0-4 the Jets appear to be firmly in the underwhelming camp – card carrying members also include the aforementioned Texans and the Raiders.
Justin Fields Stats This Season:
Game | Passing | Rushing |
Week 1: vs Steelers | 16/22, 218 yards, 1 TD | 12 carries, 48 yards, 2 TDs |
Week 2: vs Bills | 3/11, 27 yards, 0 TD | 5 carries, 49 yards, 0 TDs |
Week 4: @ Dolphins | 20/27, 226 yards, 1 TD | 7 carries, 81 yards, 1 TD |
The performances of quarterback Justin Fields (see stats above), particularly against the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football, will give the Jets some cause for optimism in that he might just be the guy.
At times, Fields flashes box office, with highlight reel manoeuvres which makes them relevant if nothing else.
The Jets come into this one relatively healthy, whilst Dallas are nursing several injuries, including their offensive line.
Nat Coombs' Panel Pick 2: Cowboys @ Jets: Over 47.5 Total Points - 10/11 With BetMGM

Dolphins (1-3) @ Panthers (1-3)
The Dolphins face the Panthers in Carolina, with their tails up after their first win of the season.
However, their mood is slightly blunted with the loss for the season of their star wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
There’s a theory that this may make them a better all-round side - if you’re buying the disruption factor.
Tyreek Hill’s surgery is now complete and “went very well according to his doctors”, per the receiver’s agent Drew Rosenhaus, who added another surgery will not be needed. “It’s about rehab and he will play next season. The realistic goal is the start of the season.” pic.twitter.com/u4lWrDPPvk

The Fins still have a lot of playmakers and an offensive architect in head coach Mike McDaniel that was written off way too soon.
The Panthers are another team that’s been struggling offensively.
Quarterback Bryce Young hasn’t built on his bounce-back second half of last season (see comparison below).
The ground game hasn’t really got going and while Tet McMillan has shown flashes, he has not provided the complete productivity they’ll need from the rookie receiver.
The Dolphins are built quite similarly to Dallas in that they are fallible defensively, so this could be a positive spot for Young and Co.
Nat Coombs' Panel Pick 3: Dolphins @ Panthers: Over 43.5 Total Points - 22/25 With BetMGM
Nat's Week 5 treble pays out around 23/4 With BetMGM.
