Pebble Beach Pro-Am Betting Tips: Five Panel Selections

The PGA Tour heads to the spectacular California coastline this week for the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the first Signature Event of the year with an 80-man field and no cut.

Rory McIlroy is the defending champion and is a juicy 14/1 on several on betting sites for a successful title defence, but world number one Scottie Scheffler is the 3/1 favourite, having finished inside the top 10 in his two previous visits.

The tournament takes place over two par-72 courses: Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill, with the former hosting both rounds over the weekend.

Although Pebble Beach is not particularly difficult, its greens are the smallest on the PGA Tour and can be tough to find if the breeze is blowing.

The Panel were unlucky not to land a second successive winning tip last weekend when 25/1 each-way selection Hideki Matsuyama, just needing a par at the 72nd hole to win the Phoenix Open, could only make a five and lost in a play-off with Chris Gotterup.

That near-miss followed Adam Schenk giving the column a 20/1 winner for finishing in the top 20 at the Farmers Insurance Open, so after four tournaments, The Panel are 3.5 points in profit to level stakes.

Hopefully, The Panel can go well again with this week’s Pebble Beach Pro-Am betting tips which include four outrights and one top 20.

Pebble Beach Pro-Am Betting Tips: Panel Wooed By Kim

It’s been three years since Kim entered the winners’ circle on the PGA Tour, but his superb run of form suggests his drought could end this week.

The South Korean has placed sixth or better in five of his last half a dozen outings – including a recent tie for second at Torrey Pines on the Californian coast - and he finished 11th at the Australian Open in his final event of last year, so he is on fire right now.

Kim’s last two visits to Pebble Beach are also encouraging, following up 14th spot in 2024 with 12th place a year ago.

In 2019, Kim carded a weekend 69-68 to finish in a tie for fourth, although he was six shots adrift of winner Phil Mickelson, so this seems to be a course on which he thrives.

Also adding fuel to the fire is that the world number 26 has the second best Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green numbers in the fledgling season which should serve him well bearing in mind this is a second-shot course owing to the wide fairways on both lay-outs.

The last two winners as a Signature Event, McIlroy and Wyndham Clark, were first and third respectively in the SG: Off-the-Tee metrics and Kim has been strong in that area in the early part of 2026.

His last PGA Tour win came at Waialae, like Pebble Beach a coastal track, so the stars seem to be aligning for a big week from Kim, who is 25/1 with many betting apps

Pebble Beach Pro-Am Betting Tips:

Pebble Beach Pro-Am Tips: Clear As Day

Jason Day has 13 PGA Tour titles to his name, including the 2015 USPGA Championship, yet he has never won at Pebble Beach despite a stunning record in this event.

In his last 10 appearances at this tournament, Day has been inside the top 10 on seven occasions, finishing 11th, 13th and 24th on the other three visits. He also finished just outside the top 20 when Pebble Beach hosted the 2019 US Open.

Perhaps it’s his destiny never to lift the trophy here, but only Scheffler shot a better score than Day at PGA West last month when the Australian was superb from tee to green and the best putter in the field.

Day can be backed at 45/1 with BetMGM, but The Panel are on board the 33/1 offered by Ladbrokes, taking into account the high-quality playing field.

Pebble Beach Pro-Am Predictions: Berger Looks Tasty

Daniel Berger has not played at Pebble Beach since winning the last of his four PGA Tour titles five years ago, but there is every reason to believe he could be a contender this week.

Aside from a mediocre performance at The American Express, Berger has been playing solid golf, kicking the year off with sixth place at the Sony Open in Hawaii during which he had positive numbers across all but one of the main Strokes Gained metrics.

A closing 65 ensured a tie for 16th at last week’s Phoenix Open where he was the best in the field for SG: Approach and he was just outside the top 10 from Tee-to-Green.

The 32-year-old from Florida had had his health issues in the last few years and only returned to action in November following a two-month lay-off for a fractured finger, but he is starting to look like his old self again.

At 45/1 with Bet365, Berger makes the cut as the next of The Panel’s Pebble Beach Pro-Am betting tips.

Pebble Beach Pro-Am Each-Way Tips: Pick Pendrith

Taylor Pendrith missed the cut at PGA West and Torrey Pines, but, in the week before The American Express, the Canadian looked in great nick at the Sony Open in Hawaii where he finished sixth.

Pendrith’s numbers across the Strokes Gained stats at Waialae were solid across the board and having skipped the trip to Arizona, The Panel are expecting a decent display at a track he likes.

Just inside the top 50 on his 2022 debut, Pendrith was seventh a year later and 12 months ago he finished alongside Scheffler in ninth spot.

Pendrith is one of the longest hitters on the PGA Tour, so he should get on famously with these generous fairways, and his tee-to-green stats were very good last season.

The Panel thinks Pendrith looks worth a whirl at 60/1 with Bet365.

Pebble Beach Pro-Am Top 20: Novak Can Serve Up A Treat

It’s been feast or famine since the turn of the year for Andrew Novak, who has mixed two missed cuts with two tops 10s and 17th place at the Hero World Challenge in his last five appearances.

The only PGA Tour success for the 30-year-old from North Carolina came with Ben Griffin at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans – a two-man team event – last year.

Novak, therefore, is unlikely to be challenging for top honours in such distinguished company, but he can be a contender in the top-20 market at 9/2 with BetMGM.

The world number 35 has finished 20th and 13th in his last two trips to Pebble Beach and hopefully he can make the top 20 for a third time.
