Raheem Sterling has left Chelsea by mutual consent despite having 18 months left on his contract, leading betting sites to create a market on where he will move next.

The England winger departs after a turbulent three-and-a-half years that began with a high-profile £47.5million move from Manchester City and a deal worth around £325,000 a week.

Although he featured regularly at first, making 81 appearances and scoring 19 goals, his role gradually diminished amid constant changes in the dugout.

By the time Enzo Maresca took charge, Sterling had been deemed surplus to requirements and was effectively removed from first-team contention.

He last played competitively for Chelsea in May 2024 and later trained away from the first team while potential transfers were explored.

Interest from clubs such as Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen and Fulham failed to produce a move, before an unconvincing loan spell at Arsenal followed.

Now a free agent, the 31-year-old is understood to favour staying in London but remains open to restarting his career wherever the right opportunity arises.

So, where might that be? We look at the clubs in the running, and the best Raheem Sterling next club odds.

New Home At The Cottage?

Wages appeared to be the stumbling block for Sterling’s potential move to Fulham in the summer, but if the Chelsea man is prepared to lower his expectations, there is a possibility he could remain in west London and prevent a major upheaval for his family.

The Cottagers already have plenty of wingers on their books, including Samuel Chukwueze and the in-form Harry Wilson, but Adama Traore has left the club for West Ham

That leaves room for another wide man, and Sterling could be a good fit for Marco Silva's side.

A move to Fulham makes sense given the player's wish to stay in London, but can the Cottagers afford to add him to their wage bill?

Betting apps are offering odds of 5/2 for Sterling to make Craven Cottage his new home.

Palace To Take A Punt?

Crystal Palace are going through a difficult period at the moment, and fans could do with something to cheer about.

That may come with the signing of Sterling, finally seeing someone come through the doors rather than watching their best players leave.

Marc Guehi has already left for Man City this month, while Jean-Philippe Mateta has joined manager Oliver Glasner in announcing he will be leaving the club.

Sterling would suit Palace's style of football, and they have been well backed into 5/1 with BetMGM to sign the former Liverpool winger.

Hammers Time For Raheem?

West Ham have improved in form with wins over Tottenham and Sunderland, but are still looking to bolster their squad in January to help with their fight against relegation.

They have already made signings in the January transfer window, the most recent being Traore from Fulham.

That move could end their interest in signing another winger like Sterling, but the Hammers are just 6/1 in the betting market.

A move to the London Stadium would suit Sterling as it would avoid a major upheaval, so it remains to be seen whether he gets the deal he wants.

Conte Eyes Attacking Reinforcements

Napoli have successfully raided the Premier League recently with the captures of Scott McTominay, Rasmus Hojlund, Kevin De Bruyne and Billy Gilmour, but could they make another bold move this month?

According to Italian sports daily Corriere Dello Sport, manager Antonio Conte is keen to improve the squad's options in forward areas, and Sterling is one player being considered.

However, any deal would depend on the Italian champions offloading more of their fringe players, like Lorenzo Lucca, who has joined Nottingham Forest on loan.

If Napoli can free up cash, Sterling could be an option at 6/1, though his wages may prove a stumbling block.

Magpies Outsiders To Land Sterling

Newcastle are struggling with injuries, but their problems are mainly in defence, so it seems unlikely Eddie Howe would sanction a move for Sterling.

The Magpies are 10/1 to sign the experienced winger, while a move to any MLS team is 25/1.

If Sterling is willing to make a move abroad, Bayern Munich are 30/1 to bring him to the Bundesliga, where he would play for his former City teammate Vincent Kompany.

Leeds Among Dark Horses

Leeds' odds have been shortened from 25/1 to 18/1, although they recently signed attacking midfielder Facundo Buonanotte on loan from Brighton until the end of the season, so a move for Sterling is looking unlikely.

Wolves could do with some experience to help them perform a miracle by staying up, but at 30/1, it seems unlikely that the 31-year-old would fancy a relegation battle.

At 33/1, former club Liverpool prop up the betting market, and it would be a surprise if Arne Slot is interested in adding Sterling to his squad.

He just needs to play football, a switch to the MLS could help him.

Shame how his career has gone over the last couple of years. Still only 31, so he has a couple of seasons left in him - if he's up for it

I think he would prefer to stay in London, so a move to Palace would suit him.
