Scottish Open Betting Tips 2025: 7 Renaissance Club Selections From The Panel

All of the world’s top five players are competing at The Renaissance Club for what should be a thrilling warm-up to next week’s Open Championship at Royal Portrush.
Robert MacIntyre gave The Panel a 45/1 winner with his thrilling Scottish Open victory 12 months ago and he is back to defend his title on the East Lothian coast.
Scottie Scheffler skipped the event last year, but the world number one is back for his fourth appearance in North Berwick where he starts as the 5/1 favourite on betting sites, with 2023 champion Rory McIlroy next in line at 8/1 to win this Rolex Series event.

Looking at the stats from the last five years, it’s clear that winners have been strong from tee to green and with the putter on this par-70 lay-out measuring just over 7,200 yards.
Winners tend to have good form, both recent and at this course, where the undulating greens are fairly easy to find if wind is not a factor as expected this week, but players need to be wary of the thick rough, gorse and deep pot holes which are a feature of this links.
The Panel have had a couple of each-way pay-outs in the last three weeks, but hopefully they can repeat their 2024 success with their Scottish Open betting tips which combine outrights, first-round leader and a couple of top 20/30 markets.
Scottish Open Betting Tips: Champion MacIntyre Can Be Renaissance Man
Last year’s triumph was hugely emotional for the likeable Scot, who birdied the final hole for a one-shot victory over Adam Scott, 12 months after he had finished runner-up to McIlroy by the same margin.
MacIntyre is enjoying a brilliant season on the PGA Tour during which he has posted four top 10s, including second place at last month’s US Open and ninth at The Players Championship.
The world number 14 has been excellent from tee to green all year and he was fifth using the Strokes Gained measure during his national Open victory, so another bold bid is expected on a course which clearly suits his eye.

Although MacIntyre’s putter has been so-so in 2025, only three players to make the cut were better than him at the US Open – one of which was winner JJ Spaun – and he was pretty hot at Colonial too.
It promises to be another encouraging week for MacIntyre backed by a partisan crowd, and although no player has ever made a successful title defence at this tournament, he looks worth taking at 33/1 with golf betting sites as the first of this week’s Scottish Open predictions.

Scottish Open Betting Odds: Burns To Thrive On East Coast
Sam Burns has been on a roll since missing three successive cuts in the spring and is worth considering at 40/1 with PricedUp.
The American tops the Strokes Gained: Putting rankings on the PGA Tour and has finished inside the top 20 in his last five tournaments, including a runners-up spot at the Canadian Open where he lost in a play-off.
Burns followed that with seventh place at the US Open, so his confidence is sky high as he looks to break back into the world’s top 20 this week.
Although Burns missed last year’s renewal, he has played this course three times, posting top 20s twice (2021 and 2023), and a week later produced his best ever performance at The Open (T31).
A five-time PGA Tour winner, Burns is also a decent player in windy conditions should it start to blow on the east coast.
With positive SG: tee-to-Green numbers in his last outing at the Travelers Championship, Burns looks a livewire.
Scottish Open Prediction 2: Sam Burns (Each-Way) - 40/1 With PricedUp (Six Places)
Scottish Open Betting Predictions: Kiwi Can Outfox Quality Field
One player whose form cannot be questioned is Ryan Fox, who has won two tournaments in the last 10 weeks to break into the world’s top 30 and is included in The Panel’s Scottish Open tips at 60/1 with Unibet.
The 38-year-old New Zealander landed his first PGA Tour title in a three-man play-off at the Myrtle Beach Classic in May.
Fox needed another play-off to post a second victory five weeks later at the Canadian Open, hitting a three-wood to seven feet at the fourth extra hole to deny Burns.
Since then, Fox enjoyed back-to-back top 20s at the US Open and Travelers Championship, so there has been no sign of his form dipping after such a successful run.
Fox has been excellent from tee-to-green and with the putter this season, while his approach numbers are also very good.
The only downside is his record at The Renaissance where he has generally struggled, save for 12th spot two years ago, but his form suggests that could all change this week.
Scottish Open Prediction 3: Ryan Fox (Each-Way) - 60/1 With Unibet (Six Places)
Scottish Open Betting Tips: Harman Value At Triple Figures
Brian Harman won The Open in a canter at Hoylake two years ago and recent performances at The Renaissance Club suggest he could enjoy an excellent four days on the Scottish coast.
The left-handed American was just two shots off the lead heading into the final round in 2023 only for his hopes to be scuppered by a closing 74 which still proved good enough for 12th place.
Last year, Harman shot four sub-70 rounds to finish just outside the top 20, so it seems this is a track where he feels comfortable ahead of next week’s trip to Royal Portrush.
Harman won the Texas Open in windy conditions in April and although his form has been patchy since then, he was third at the Heritage and eighth at the Travelers Championship last time out.
Despite hating links courses in the early stage of his career, Harman has learned to embrace and master its challenges, so he certainly catches the eye at 80/1 with Bet365 which is offering eight places, although some betting apps have him priced at 100/1.
Scottish Open Prediction 4: Brian Harman (Each-Way) - 80/1 With Bet365 (Eight Places)

Scottish Open Top 20/30 Tips: Perez And Syme To Compete
Victor Perez finished 10th last year and looks excellent value at 17/4 with Bet365 for another top-20 finish.
The Frenchman has only once missed the cut once in six visits to the Renaissance and he was 14th in 2020, just a year after posting a top 30 at this course.
Perez has been a top-20 hit in five of his last 12 tournaments on the PGA Tour, including the US Open, and The Panel expect him to be in the mix again.
Scottish Open Prediction 5: Victor Perez Top 20 - 17/4 With Bet365
(Odds correct at 2pm on July 8, 2025)
Connor Syme defied the odds by winning his first DP World Tour event at the KLM Open in June and he is included in this week’s plan.
The Scot, who turns 30 on Friday, ended a run of four missed cuts at the Austrian Alpine Open, but even that performance hardly seemed to herald his two-shot victory over Joakim Lagergren at The International, a links-style course like The Renaissance.
Syme finished in a tie for 15th at last year’s Scottish Open and he has never failed to make the cut at this course, so The Panel are on board for a top 30 at 9/2, although the more cautious punter may like the 14/5 for a top 40, also with Bet365.
Scottish Open Prediction 6: Connor Syme Top 30 - 9/2 With Bet365
(Odds correct at 2pm on July 8, 2025)
Scottish Open First-Round Tips: No Doubting Thomas
Finally, The Panel like the chances of Thomas Detry topping the first-round leaderboard at 80/1 with William Hill.
The Belgian has been third at the end of the opening round in his last two appearances at The Renaissance Club and he was sixth after the first 18 holes of the US Open.
That hot start at Oakmont came a week after Detry shot a first-round 66 at the Canadian Open, so the signs are encouraging he can burst out of the blocks once again.
Scottish Open Prediction 7: Thomas Detry (Each-Way) First-Round Leader - 80/1 With William Hill (Five Places)
