Taylor vs Cameron Predictions:

Katie Taylor will bid to become a two-weight undisputed world champion when she fights Chantelle Cameron in Dublin on Saturday night.

The unbeaten Irish boxer is the odds-on favourite to extend her winning streak, priced at 8/13 with betting sites.

However, this could prove to be her toughest fight yet, as Cameron is also unbeaten in her 17-fight professional career.

The Nottingham native is the undisputed light-welterweight world champion, and she has already beaten Jessica McCaskill and Melissa Hernandez.

Yet Taylor will benefit from passionate home support inside the 3Arena in Dublin this weekend, and she should have enough quality to outpoint her tenacious opponent.

Read on for our top tips on this eagerly anticipated match.

Back Taylor To Win By Decision

Taylor extended her professional record to 22-0 when she beat Karen Carabajal courtesy of a unanimous decision in October.

Only six of those wins came via knockout, and she has not stopped an opponent since facing Rose Valante in Philadelphia back in March 2019.

Since then, KT has rattled off nine consecutive wins by decision, displaying a tremendous blend of skill and tenacity.

Her most impressive victory came against Amanda Serrano at Madison Square Garden in April last year.

DAZN referred to it as the biggest women’s fight of all time, and Taylor went into the bout as the underdog, with her undisputed lightweight titles on the line.

They waged war for 10 captivating rounds, but Taylor ultimately won via a split decision (94–96, 97–93 and 96–93).

Sports Illustrated named it Fight of the Year, and The Ring awarded it the Event of the Year title, propelling Taylor to superstardom.

She defended her belts against Carbajal in London last autumn, and she was due to face Serrano in a highly anticipated rematch this month.

However, the Puerto Rican fighter pulled out with an injury, so Taylor took to Instagram and called out Cameron as a replacement.

Cameron accepted, despite initially believing her rival’s account had been hacked, and she will now head to Ireland for the biggest fight of her career.

It promises to be a tight battle between two talented fighters, but Taylor deserves her status as the 8/13 favourite with the best online betting sites for boxing due to her experience and talent.

You can earn better odds of 8/11 by backing her to win via a decision, which looks very appealing when you consider both fighters’ records.

Home Crowd Could Sway The Judges

This will be a rematch of sorts, as Taylor and Cameron previously fought in the semi-finals of the 2011 EU Championships in Hungary as amateurs.

Taylor won that fight and went on to claim the gold medal en route to subsequently winning gold at the 2012 London Olympics.

Cameron’s amateur record was less auspicious, but she has flourished since turning professional in 2017.

She won her first 12 fights without much trouble, and she then landed the vacant WBC light-welterweight title by beating Adriana Araújo in October 2020.

Cameron has successfully defended that belt four times, and she has also added the IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO light-welterweight titles, having beaten Hernández, Mary McGee, Victoria Bustos and McCaskill in the past few years.

The victory over Hernández was especially noteworthy, as several commentators had previously speculated that the explosive Puerto Rican would be too strong for Taylor.

Cameron knocked her out in the fifth round of their bout, but six of her last seven fights have gone the distance.

As such, you can only find a best price of 1/6 with betting apps on this fight going to the judges’ scorecards.

The Nottingham native deserves respect – after all, she is the undisputed world champion, with an unbeaten record, and she is also slightly taller than Taylor, with a modest reach advantage – but she will be the villain of the piece on Saturday.

They are No. 2 and No. 4 respectively in The Ring’s pound-for-pound rankings, so it could be a relatively even fight.

However, the home crowd will roar Taylor on, and Cameron has already said that she is concerned about the way the judges will score the fight in such a pressured atmosphere.

Fourteen of Taylor’s 22 wins have come via a unanimous decision, and that looks like an exciting way to get more value on this fight, especially as Bet365 have boosted the odds to 6/4 on that outcome.

Increase The Potential Payout With A Fight Night Treble

3Arena

English fighter Terri Harper will defend her WBA and IBO super-welterweight titles against 41-year-old Norwegian veteran Cecilia Braekhus on the Taylor-Cameron undercard.

Cecilia Braekhus is a legend within women’s boxing, but Harper is a rising star, and her superior pace and energy should power her to victory.

Unbeaten Irish boxer Caoimhin Agyarko should also make short work of 39-year-old boxer Grant Dennis, who has an 18-4 record.

If you put Harper and Agyarko in a treble with Taylor, you will get combined odds of more than 51/50 With 888sport, and that looks attractive.
