Truist Championship Betting Tips: 5 Selections From Pennsylvania

This week’s Truist Championship is the sixth Signature Event of the season and understandably has attracted a quality field despite the absence of Scottie Scheffler, who won his first title of the year in style at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson on Sunday.
Formerly the Wells Fargo Championship, the tournament has attracted a new sponsor and with Quail Hollow set to host next week’s USPGA Championship, the Wissahickon Course at the Philadelphia Cricket Club steps in to stage the event.
Masters champion Rory McIlroy is the 5/1 favourite with betting sites to win the title ahead of Collin Morikawa (14/1), Xander Schauffele (16/1), Justin Thomas (16/1) and Ludvig Aberg (18/1), but could there be a surprise winner on a course likely to be unfamiliar to almost all of the 72 players?
Wissahickon is a classical short par-70 course measuring 7,119 yards characterised by few trees, fairly wide fairways and plenty of sand bunkers.
However, the trickiest part of the course is likely to be found on the greens, as explained by club director of golf Jim Smith Jr, who said: “[Wissahickon] doesn't offer a flat putt anywhere, least of all inside 5 feet.
“It’s all in the greens. There isn’t a straight putt to be found, especially if the greens are running at Stimpmeter speeds of 12-plus.”
With that in mind, it makes sense to include a couple of strong putters for this week’s Truist Championship betting tips which kick off with Jordan Spieth.
Truist Championship Tips: Spieth On Upward Curve
With McIlroy spending a lot of time being interviewed since his triumph at Augusta, The Panel are looking further down the field for potential winners and like the look of Spieth’s prospects.
The three-time major winner shot his lowest round since 2021 with a closing bogey-free 62 at last week’s Byron Nelson to finish outright fourth.
He was still a massive 12 shots behind winner Scheffler, but it was an encouraging performance nevertheless from a player that seems to be hitting form at just the right time.
He said: “I've been putting, actually stroking it really well coming into this week, and I didn't have much go in at Hilton Head, but statistically I've been on a really good putting run.”
The stats tell us that Spieth was only really hot on the greens in the final round, but he’s just outside the top 50 for Strokes Gained: Putting this season.
Only Scheffler and Erik van Rooyen were better tee to green at TPC Craig Ranch and he is long enough to take advantage of these generous fairways on a course which is generally straight.
Spieth has made the cut in his last seven outings and was only once outside the top 30 during that spell which included T14 at the US Masters, so the omens look good this week for a first victory in three years.
With Scheffler skipping the tournament, Spieth looks decent value at 28/1 with Unibet.

Truist Championship Odds: Hot Lee Can Double Up
It was only six weeks ago that Min Woo Lee won his first PGA Tour title at the Houston Open, but he has every chance of landing another in Pennsylvania.
The Australian held off Scheffler and Gary Woodland to win by one shot despite finding the water on the 16th when he led by three strokes.
Lee is one of the longest hitters on the PGA Tour, which will come in handy on this short course, and is sixth for putting using the Strokes Gained metric, so he has what it takes to do well.
The downside is that Lee struggles to find the fairways which won’t help his cause if he finds the three-inch fescue rough.

Accuracy has never been his strong point, but he almost broke even from off the tee at Harbour Town in his previous outing which will have given him reasons for optimism.
Lee is available at 45/1 with golf betting sites as the next of The Panel’s Truist Championship betting tips.

Truist Championship Predictions: Putting Can Aid McCarthy Bid
Denny McCarthy has not missed a cut since last year’s Open Championship at Royal Troon and he is one of the best putters among this week’s elite field.
The 32-year-old from Maryland has yet to win on the PGA Tour, but he has gone close in the last couple of years, losing play-offs at the Memorial and Texas Open to Viktor Hovland (2023) and Akskay Bhatia (2024) respectively.
McCarthy has enjoyed six top 20s in his 11 outings in 2025 which suggests he is getting closer to ending his drought and his excellent putting numbers tell us he has an advantage over most of this field.
Concerns he may be out of his depth here were allayed when he finished fifth at the relocated Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines which was a Signature Event just like the Truist Championship.
He may have to wait for a maiden title, but he has finished inside the top 10 in his last two performances at this tournament, admittedly under the old guise and at a different course.
Bet365 is offering 55/1 for eight places and that looks a price worth taking as the next of The Panel’s selections.
Truist Championship Prediction 3: Denny McCarthy (Each-Way) - 55/1 With Bet365 (Eight Places)

Truist Championship Betting Tips: Van Rooyen In Driving Seat
Van Rooyen produced his best display of the season to finish runner-up to Scheffler last week and he looks an interesting prospect at 175/1 with some betting apps.
Instead of tipping the South African in the outrights, though, The Panel recommend taking odds of 17/4 for a top-20 finish with SpreadEx.
Only Scheffler was better tee to green than Van Rooyen at the Byron Nelson, so his confidence will be sky high despite being up against a much tougher group of players.
Van Rooyen has struggled with his flatstick in 2025, but his SG: Putting numbers were positive for three of his four rounds at TPC Craig Ranch and hopefully that will stand him in good stead this week.
Truist Championship Prediction 4: Erik van Rooyen Top 20 - 17/4 With SpreadEx
Truist Championship Predictions: Rose Can Blossom Again
McIlroy is the clear favourite to win his fourth title of the season, but should he come up short after doing his exhausting media rounds, then Justin Rose catches the eye at 12/1 in the top Great Britain and Ireland player.
There are plenty of other players ahead of him in this market such as Tommy Fleetwood and Shane Lowry, but Rose’s near miss at Augusta suggests his game is in great shape.
Rose has posted three top 10s in his last seven appearances and this looks the type of course where he may thrive.
Add into the equation that conditions are likely to be cool with wind also prevailing on some days, and the Englishman could find himself in the mix for a 12th PGA Tour title.
Eight of his 11 triumphs have come on classical courses like Wissahickon and it would be no surprise if he is near the top of the leaderboard on Sunday night.
Truist Championship Prediction 5: Justin Rose Top GB & Ire Player - 12/1 With Ladbrokes
