Cheltenham Festival 2025 Odds: Our Lucky 15 For Day 3

We have reached the halfway stage at the 2025 Cheltenham Festival and after a fantastic two days of racing, our focus is firmly on Thursday which is traditionally the hardest day of the week from a punting perspective.
All eyes will be on Teahupoo in the feature as he aims to win the race for successive seasons, while Fact To File and Il Est Francais lock horns in a fascinating clash in the Ryanair Chase.
In this article, I will explain to you what a Lucky 15 bet is and pick out some big-priced each-way value with betting sites on day three of the festival that should get into the mix.
What Is A Lucky 15 Bet?
A Lucky 15 bet is a popular multiple-bet format in horse racing and other sports. It consists of 15 bets placed on four selections (teams, horses, or outcomes). The 15 bets are broken down as follows:
- 4 Singles (one bet per selection)
- 6 Doubles (each possible pairing of two selections)
- 4 Trebles (each possible grouping of three selections)
- 1 Four-Fold Accumulator (all four selections combined)

Why Is It Called A Lucky 15?
The "lucky" part comes from the fact that even if only one selection wins, you still get a payout (unlike a traditional accumulator, where all selections must win).
Some horse racing betting sites also offer bonuses, such as double odds if only one selection wins or a percentage boost if all four selections win.
Here's how it works. If you bet €1 per bet, the total stake would be €15 (€1 × 15 bets).
Your returns depend on how many of your selections win and the odds of each.
Karoline Banbou - Mares' Novices’ Hurdle (Thursday 13:20)
Sixandahalf looks set to go off favourite in the Mares Novices’ Hurdle, but she looks short enough and Karoline Banbou represents good value at 8/1 with betting apps.
A useful hurdler in France, the Mullins camp couldn’t believe she got beat in Naas on debut but she made amends at Fairyhouse next time out to win comfortably.
She looks like a mare going places and I expect her to go off a lot shorter than the current price.
Djelo - Ryanair Chase (Thursday 15:20)
The Ryanair Chase market is dominated by Fact To File, who was an impressive winner at last year’s festival but hasn’t reached the heights many expected him to this year.
Djelo finished third in last season’s Golden Miller Novices’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival and has been in fine form this season after picking up wins at Newbury and Huntington.
He looks tailor-made for the Ryanair Chase and represents strong each-way value odds of 14/1 with betting sites.
Lucky Place - Stayers’ Hurdle (Thursday 16:00)
Teahupoo heads the market at 6/4 here but he doesn’t seem to be in the same vein of form as last season and also he would ideally prefer the ground softer.
Lucky Place ran a blinder in the Coral Cup at last year’s Cheltenham festival despite the Nicky Henderson horses being well out of sorts.
The Pastorius gelding arrives at the festival on the back of a cracking season with Grade 2 victories coming at Ascot and Cheltenham, and looks to be one of the most progressive horses in the field.
An Peann Dearg - Plate Handicap Chase (Wednesday 16:40)
Paul Nolan sends a small but select team of seven horses to the Cheltenham Festival and An Peann Dearg in the Plate Handicap Chase may be his best chance of a winner all week.
The talented eight-year-old arrives at Cheltenham on the back of a brace of wins at Leopardstown and a 12-pound rise in the weights for his most recent facile win should be more than manageable and odds of 14/1 look very attractive.
