Premier League Relegation Odds: Promoted Trio Favourites For Drop

The 2025/26 Premier League season will kick off on Friday, August 15 this year, and betting sites have odds on all the usual markets.
The relegation battle is one of the most popular betting market with punters, and this year should be no different.
Fans of Sunderland, Leeds and Burnley should look away now, as the three clubs promoted from the Championship last season head the market for relegation.
It's a trend that has been seen in the top flight for the last couple of seasons, with the previous six promoted sides returning immediately to the Championship.
Of course, there is always the potential for other teams to struggle, as Manchester United and Tottenham supporters experienced last season.
Here, we look at the main contenders for the drop and some teams that could easily get dragged into a relegation battle.
Tough Season Ahead For Sunderland
Sunderland are back in the Premier League after an eight-year absence.
The Black Cats finished fourth in the Championship last season and went on to win the play-offs with a stoppage-time winner against Sheffield United.
French manager Regis Le Bris has done a fantastic job at the Stadium of Light and has assembled a talented young squad with bags of potential.
Despite this, football betting sites see Sunderland as favourites for the drop at a price of 30/100.
Can Burnley Beat The Drop?
Burnley have been the ultimate yo-yo club in recent seasons.
The Clarets were promoted to the Premier League in 2023/24 but suffered an instant return to the Championship.
They are now back in the big time and will be hoping to avoid a third relegation in five seasons.
Scott Parker's side registered 30 clean sheets last season, and they will need their defence to be at their best again against some of the best strikers in the world.
As it stands, Burnley are the 4/9 second favourites to make another quick return to the Championship.
Leeds Tipped To Struggle
Of the three promoted clubs, Leeds are tipped to perform best according to betting apps.
Having pipped Burnley to the Championship title last season, confidence will be high at Elland Road as they return to the Premier League for the first time since 2022/23.
They need some stability at this stage, so it's not a good sign that manager Daniel Farke's job was being questioned earlier in the summer.
The Whites already have some Premier League-quality players at the club, but they will still need to strengthen in some departments.
Leeds are 21/20 with SpreadEx to suffer relegation.
Wolves Without Star Men
Wolves face going into the new season without Matheus Cunha who has left to join Manchester United.
Having also lost Rayan Ait-Nouri to Man City, manager Vitor Pereira must plan without two of his best players.
Wolves got off to a bad start last season under Gary O'Neil, but improved significantly after Pereira took over in December.
The Portuguese led the team to some impressive performances, including a run of six wins in March and April.
Despite this, Wolves are just 7/2 for relegation next season.
Bees Could Struggle With Rookie Boss
Keith Andrews' appointment as manager at Brentford came from left field.
The Irishman has never held the top job in his coaching career, so it will be a baptism of fire as the Bees enter the post-Thomas Frank era.
Having a rookie boss and the likely loss of main man Bryan Mbeumo could mean there is a tough season ahead at the Gtech Community Stadium.
They are 4/1 to drop out of the Premier League next season.
West Ham And Fulham Not Safe
Hopes are usually high for West Ham (7/1) as they go into a new season, but they have had little to shout about in recent years.
Graham Potter will be hoping to have put his own stamp on the team during the summer, which could bring about some improvement.
Across London, the job that Marco Silva has done since taking over at Fulham has not gone unnoticed.
The Portuguese manager took the Cottagers back into the Premier League in his first season in charge in 2021/22, and has solidified them as a mid-table team ever since.
Fulham's key to survival will be keeping Silva out of the clutches of other clubs. They are 15/2 for relegation.
Everton And Palace Outsiders For The Drop
The 2025/26 season will be a big one for Everton (9/1).
The Toffees have moved to a new stadium and will be hoping for a successful campaign under David Moyes.
Crystal Palace's FA Cup win was one of the stories of last season and they are also 9/1 to be relegated.
Oliver Glasner is another manager who has caught the eye of bigger clubs, and the Eagles will need to keep hold of the Austrian if they are to build on their success at the club.
Elsewhere, Bournemouth are 11/1 for the drop, while last season's surprise packages Nottingham Forest can be backed at 12/1.
