Rex Regum Qeon Release VALORANT Head Coach Jovi After One Season
Rex Regum Qeon has released head coach Jovanni "Jovi" Vera after one season in charge of its VALORANT roster, with the move confirmed on September 14, 2026. Jovi announced it himself, saying the club had given him permission to explore new opportunities for the 2027 season.
"With the 2026 season complete, RRQ is allowing me to explore options for the 2027 season," Jovi wrote. "I'll be taking some time to explore what the next chapter looks like while remaining motivated to keep growing and applying everything I've learned this year."
Jovi took over as RRQ's head coach last offseason, his first head coaching role in VCT, after TALON released him and fellow coach FrosT, with whom he had previously worked at 100 Thieves in 2021.
According to Riot's Global Contract Database, Jovi's contract with RRQ ran through the 2027 season. Midseason signing Xan also holds a 2027 deal, while the rest of the roster's contracts expire this offseason.
Open To Head Coach, Assistant Or Strategic Roles
Jovi said he is targeting a head coach, assistant coach or strategic coach position for 2027, open to any region but favouring Asia-Pacific. He described himself as fluent in English and Spanish and willing to learn a new language, positioning himself for a move outside Indonesia if the right offer arrives.
Jovi's exit lands in the busiest stretch of the VALORANT offseason, the window between the end of regional league play and the following year's signing period.
