Leeds fans were up in arms after Saturday’s terrible 2-0 defeat at relegation rivals Burnley which saw them drop to 16th in the Premier League table.

Although Daniel Farke is not in immediate danger of being sacked, many supporters were critical of the German’s decision to play Jack Harrison and Brenden Aaronson on the wings in support of misfiring striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Admittedly, United were without injured duo Wilfried Gnonto and Noah Okafor, while Dan James was only fit enough to come on midway through the second half after a one-month lay-off.

The club’s American owners also came in for some flak for what the fans believe was a poor transfer window, but for now the heat seems to be on Farke ahead of Friday’s must-win game against fellow strugglers West Ham.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is the early favourite on betting sites to take over at Elland Road should the 49ers decide to make a managerial change, but there are plenty of other contenders.

We take a look at some of the names in the running and the next Leeds manager odds.

Next Leeds Manager Betting: Rodgers Could Jump Ship Again

Rodgers’ relationship with the Celtic board has definitely been on the strained side since the start of the season after they failed to produce any significant signings during the summer transfer window.

The Hoops paid the price for selling Nicolas Kuhn and Adam Idah to Como and Swansea respectively without finding suitable replacements as they missed out on the group stage of the Champions League.

Celtic lost at Dundee for the first time in 37 years at the weekend which left Rodgers complaining about the lack of firepower in his squad.

The Northern Irishman has left Celtic for the Premier League before, in 2019 when he joined Leicester, and he is 5/6 on football betting sites to do so again with Leeds.

Next Leeds Manager Betting: Ange In The Mix

If it’s exciting football that Leeds fans crave, then they could do a lot worse than end up with the attack-minded Ange Postecoglou as their next manager.

The Australian was recently sacked after just 39 days as Nottingham Forest boss, but it should not be forgotten the success he has had in the UK and abroad.

Postecoglou has won titles in Australia and Japan, although he is best known for winning the Treble with Celtic in the 2022/23 season.

Although last season with Tottenham was a disaster in the Premier League, Postecoglou made good on his promise to secure silverware in his second season at a club by ending a 17-year wait for a major trophy in the Europa League.

Leeds fans still love Marcelo Bielsa, so appointing someone like Postecoglou, who also advocates a high-energy, pressing game, would go down well with some of the faithful.

Postecoglou is 9/4 in the next Leeds manager odds.

Leeds’ Next Manager Odds: O’Neil Still Available

It’s surprising that Gary O’Neil remains out of work 10 months since he was sacked by Wolves, but could he make a return to the dugout at Elland Road?

O’Neil worked wonders as Scott Parker’s replacement at Bournemouth in the 2022/23 season, keeping the club in the Premier League only to be replaced by Andoni Iraola.

Two months later he was appointed head coach at Wolves where he led the club to a 14th-placed finish despite seeing key players like Ruben Neves, Matheus Nunes, Nathan Collins and Raul Jimenez sold during the summer.

Gary O'Neil

The sale of Pedro Neto and Max Kilman in the following summer did not help his cause and he lost his job in December on the back of a poor start.

O’Neil’s reputation remains intact and he is 3/1 on betting apps to join Leeds should Farke’s reign come to an abrupt end.

Terzic Looking For Next Challenge

Edin Terzic led Borussia Dortmund to the 2023/24 Champions League final, but left the club just two weeks later in the wake of a previous violent bust-up with experienced defender Mats Hummels, who had criticised his manager’s tactics in the build-up to the game.

A meeting with senior management after the 2-0 defeat by Real Madrid resulted in Terzic standing down as head coach, yet 16 months later the German remains without a job.

In the past, Terzic has reportedly turned down offers from Everton, Real Sociedad and most recently Monaco, so the Leeds board may have to be extra persuasive should they ever make an approach.

Terzic is the 4/1 fourth favourite in the next Leeds manager market.

Rose Could Bloom At Elland Road

Marco Rose spent two-and-a-half years at RB Leipzig, who finished third and fourth in the Bundesliga during his two full seasons with the club, but he was sacked in March when they were sixth in the table.

Rose won back-to-back-titles with RB Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga and in 2023 he oversaw Leipzig winning the DFB-Pokal (the German Cup final).

He can be backed at 5/1 to land the Leeds job if Farke moves on, slightly ahead of Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who is 6/1.

The former Rangers player and manager was linked with the Leeds job when Farke was in a sticky spell, but he has since joined Arne Slot as assistant manager at Liverpool.

Van Bronckhorst may decide he wants to be the main man again at some point following a lengthy spell at Feyenoord and a shorter one at Besiktas.

Ten Hag Has Something To Prove

Erik ten Hag won the League Cup and the FA Cup during his first two seasons at Manchester United, who also qualified for the Champions League at the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

However, he was sacked in October 2024 when United were 14th in the Premier League, but seven months later he was back in management for a disastrous spell at Bayer Leverkusen which resulted in his dismissal just two games into the season.

Whether Leeds fans would want a former Manchester United manager is open to question, but he is 7/1 to end up at Elland Road.

Elsewhere, former Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl, who left Wolfsburg in May, is 10/1, while former Monaco boss Adi Hutter, a league title winner in Austria and Switzerland, is 12/1.

Henrik Rydstrom spent virtually his whole playing career at Swedish club Kalmar where he later became head coach.

He finally got out of his comfort zone and won the Allsvenskan in back-to-back seasons with Malmo, only to be axed in September after a home defeat by Ludogorets in the Europa League and a faltering title challenge.

Rydstrom is available at 14/1.

I think Leeds should give Gary O'Neil a chance, I think he could be a top manager.
