He often focuses on the back end of the market, finding angles that aren't evident to most.

13:08 Thirsk: Court Legend - 0.5pts Each-Way @ 50/1
Possessive and Kodiak Breeze dominate the market and set a clear standard, but I think one of their opposition has a better chance of being a danger to them than the market suggests.
Court Legend was never remotely competitive in the Rous Seller, but showed some promise having been very green. He was slowly away and jumped a path early on, which left him detached at the back of the field.
He ran greenly when initially asked for his effort, but had started to get the idea and was making some headway when his path was blocked on a few occasions a furlong out.
Once getting a clear run, he finished strongly into 10th.
Considering the degree of greenness that he exhibited that day, I’m expecting plenty of improvement from Court Legend at some point, and I’m hopeful that at least some of that will be shown today - now that he’s hopefully far sharper mentally for that experience.
It might be that he will need further to show his full ability, but I think he’s overpriced in this contest and any 25/1 or bigger appeals.

19:43 Bath: Olivia Jane - 1pt Win @ 40/1
Olivia Jane is having her second start since joining Nick Scholfield, and I think the market is overlooking her chance after running better than the margin beaten suggests on stable debut.
That was at Chepstow in an amateur riders handicap, where she was restrained to race at the back of the field in a slowly run contest.
However, she was then sent forward on the outside around the final bend to go from the back of the field into a leading line of four with half a mile to go.
She briefly went into a solo lead two furlongs out before the premature move told and she faded away to finish sixth.
I think that was quite a strong race for one of its type and the favourite in this race, Knightmare, finished one place ahead of Olivia Jane that day.
The latter has the potential to improve for a more efficient ride and the switch to more experienced handling is a positive for her chance too.
There is a slight doubt over the trip - given the track and ground combination - but I think she’s overpriced in a race of this standard and any 14/1 or bigger appeals.

20:30 Fairyhouse: Essential Comedy - 1pt Win @ 14/1
Essential Comedy shaped promisingly on her debut at Leopardstown, and I think she has a better chance of breaking her maiden at the second attempt than the market suggests.
She was held up that day before looking a bit green, and not having the turn of foot to put herself in contention when the pace quickened turning into the home straight.
However, she kept responding well to pressure and was strong through the line in finishing sixth.
I think she can improve having had that experience and this looks a weaker race than the one Essential Comedy contested that day.
Her low-profile connections mean that she has been overlooked in the market and any 8/1 or bigger appeals.
