The Great British Bake Off's Pastry Week saw one contestant complete their hat-trick of Star Baker awards, but another was pied off.

Nataliia, who was just 2/1 on betting sites to go home last Tuesday night, exited the tent after underbaking her savoury pastry plait Signature dish, and she "slightly overworked" the pastry in her sculpted tart Showstopper.

An emotional Nataliia - who was born in Ukraine - broke down in tears afterwards, admitting she was "proud" of herself and hopes her compatriots are proud of her, too.

Very Professional Jasmine

Jasmine also hoped to have done her pals proud after she was named Star Baker for a third week out of six.

She said: "I am so chuffed. I think people at home are going to be super-proud."

Jasmine got off to a fantastic start in Pastry Week when judge Dame Prue Leith couldn't stop eating her sausage roll Signature.

She received further praise later in the episode when fellow judge Paul Hollywood said her orchard-inspired Showstopper was "very professional" and it would look at home in any patisserie shop.

If that wasn't enough, Jasmine also won Tuesday night's Technical challenge, in which the amateur bakers had to create Paul's take on a gala pie.

That victory means Jasmine now has three firsts and one second in her last four Technicals.

She was in line for Star Baker, and duly obliged.

Following her Pastry Week exploits, Jasmine is now into Evens favourite on betting apps, from 11/8, to win this year's Great British Bake Off.

Tom Saves Himself

Tom remains second favourite to win Bake Off series 16 - but it was his weakest episode of the series.

Before his Showstopper, Tom admitted he had received his worst Bake Off feedback to date, which included finishing sixth out of seven in the Technical.

However, he saved his best for last with a Connect Four-inspired sculpted tart that was even playable. Paul said Tom was “back in the tent” and told him he had “saved himself.”

He heads into Meringue Week as the 2/1 second favourite, after drifting from 6/4, and Lesley isn't far behind him in the outright market.

She was in line to win Star Baker, but was just pipped to the post by Jasmine.

Despite this, Paul said Lesley is getting "stronger and stronger" in the competition, which could give her a boost heading into the latter stages.

Is Toby's Time Up?

Toby began Pastry Week by taking a huge risk by making a full-blooded puff pastry for the one-hour Signature challenge.

Paul warned him it couldn't be done, and while he had a completed bake, the judge wasn't full of compliments afterwards.

Toby also nearly came unstuck in the Showstopper, because he thought it was a four-and-a-half hour challenge - but the bakers were only allowed four hours for their sculpted tarts.

While Toby feared the worst, Paul said his Showstopper melted in the mouth and was a "very clever design."

Despite this, Toby cannot rely on near misses forever.

He is 6/4 favourite to go home on Tuesday night, just in front of Iain, who is a 13/8 chance.

He had a solid Pastry Week, but both Paul and Prue agreed he'd added too much booze to his Showstopper.

Aaron had a mixed episode, and it's also a mixed bag for him in the outright and next elimination markets.

He is 2/1 to go home next, but 3/1 to win the competition.

It comes after Paul praised his plaiting as "fantastic" in the Signature.

Just as Aaron was preparing to receive one of the famous Hollywood Handshakes, Paul admitted his effort was "slightly underbaked".

Despite that, Paul ended up having Aaron's Jamaican beef patty plait for his lunch, so the amateur baker can count himself unfortunate he didn't receive a handshake.

His Showstopper received a mixed reaction, but he remains in the competition for Tuesday night's Meringue Week.

Who will get the next Hollywood Handshake? And which baker will end up with a 'soggy bottom'?
