US Open Each-Way Betting Tips: 5 Selections From Shinnecock Hills

Shinnecock Hills is once again the venue for this week’s US Open which sees Scottie Scheffler hoping to become the seventh player to complete the career grand slam.
The world number one starts as the 6/1 favourite on betting sites to win the US Open, followed by 2011 champion Rory McIlroy, who is generally available at 11/1.
Brooks Koepka (40/1) won this major on one over par when it was last played on this course in 2018 and it could be just as tough eight years later.
Back then, Phil Mickelson decided to hit a rolling ball during this third round to prevent it from slipping off the lightning-fast 13th green, incurring a two-shot penalty on his way to a 10.
The USGA has learned lessons from then, but the difficulty of this links-like course in New York State is still dictated by the wind which is expected to blow for the first couple of days.
Although the fairways are wide, players will want to avoid the first cut of rough which measures around five inches - stray further and they are confronted by waist-high fescue.
Shinnecock Hills is also very exposed and long at 7,440 yards for a par-70, so a tough examination is expected, although scores may not be as high as the last time it hosted this major.
Long, straight hitters will clearly have an advantage on this Long Island track, but who will The Panel be going for this week?
They returned a reasonable profit with Jackson Suber's fourth place at last week’s Canadian Open for a top 20 finish at 13/2, and Ryan Fox bagged an each-way payout at 55/1.
Once again, The Panel have picked out four US Open each-way betting tips and one top 20, starting with an old friend of the column.

US Open Betting Tips: Henley A Major Force
Russell Henley heads into the penultimate major of the season buoyed by his sixth PGA Tour title three weeks ago.
The American scuppered what would have been a 90/1 winner for The Panel with a play-off victory against Eric Cole, so he certainly owes the team one!
Despite being ranked world number five, those who have a passing interest in golf would probably struggle to pick him out in an identity parade, but his record in majors has been on an upward trajectory lately.
Henley, who gave The Panel a 35/1 at Bay Hill in 2025, has produced top 10s at the last two US Open and Open Championships, and he finished in a tie for third at The Masters in April.
Although not the longest off the tee, in return Henley tops the driving accuracy percentages at almost 72% which will be a big advantage against those who stray from the fairway.
Henley’s confidence must be sky high ahead of his return to Shinnecock Hills where he finished in a tie for 25th eight years ago and he kicks off this week’s US Open tips at 35/1 with several betting apps.

US Open Predictions: Clark Can Tame Shinnecock
Wyndham Clark won the US Open in 2023 with a one-shot victory over McIlroy at LA Country Club and all the signs are pointing towards another major assault this week.
Clark ended a two-year title drought by winning last month’s Byron Nelson with a closing 60 for a 30 under aggregate score and then moved back into the world’s top 40 with third place at the Memorial.
The 32-year-old from Denver then finished just outside the top 10 at last week’s Canadian Open, so his preparations could not have gone much better.
Clark hits it 309 yards on average and he has been very strong from tee-to-green this season (19th using the Strokes Gained metric), so as long as he can keep the ball in the fairway, he stands an excellent chance.
His major form took a dip after his success in California two years ago, but since then he finished fourth at last year’s Open and 21st at Augusta.

US Open Betting Tips: Matsuyama Looks A Solid Pick
It’s been five years since Hideki Matsuyama became the first Asian player to win The Masters, but could he add another major title to his name this week?
The 34-year-old Japanese has won 11 PGA Tour titles since 2014 and his consistency suggests he could launch a challenge in Southampton.
Matsuyama has not missed the cut in more than a year, the 2025 USPGA Championship at Quail Hollow, so The Panel are probably on safe ground about him playing over the weekend.
Inside the top 10 in four of his 12 US Open appearances, Matsuyama was 12th at this year’s Masters and 26th at Aronimink, so his current major form is decent if not spectacular.
Matsuyama’s recent form has been so-so, but all the metrics were positive when he finished 13th at Colonial where he was inside the top 15 from tee-to-green.
He may not stand out as a winner, but he catches the eye as an each-way prospect at 70/1 with BetMGM.

US Open Each-Way Tips: Go Full English
No one loves the grind of a US Open more than Harris English, who wraps up The Panel’s each-way selections at 75/1 with Bet365.
The first thing to mention is that English has finished inside the top eight in three of his last six US Open appearances, an excellent record from a player with five PGA Tour titles to his name.
A major may be missing from his CV, but he was a two-time runner-up to Scheffler last season.
English finished five shots behind the world’s best player at the USPGA Championship and was outright second at Royal Portrush.
Admittedly, his irons have been luke warm this year, but his putters have been red hot – something that will be needed on these treacherous and severe greens.
Again, English does not seem to be in the conversation, but his US Open record suggests another challenge is on the cards.

US Open Top 20 Tips: Hop On Harman
Suber gave The Panel a nice 13/2 winner in the top 20 market last week and Brian Harman could do the same at a slightly lower price of 6/1 with Sky Bet.
The unlikely 2023 Open champion is a consistent, no-frills sort of player who has not missed the cut at the US Open in eight consecutive visits - a great starting point when picking players to finish inside the top 20.
The lefty finished a four-shot runner-up to Koepka at Erin Hills in 2017 and he squeezed inside the top 20 four years later when Jon Rahm won at Torrey Pines.
Two years ago, the 39-year-old Georgian was just one shot outside the top 20 at Pinehurst No 2 and it should be mentioned that he finished T36 at Shinnecock Hills in 2018.
On the negative side, he has had just two top 20s this year, one at Sawgrass, four weeks after he finished 19th at Pebble Beach.
That said, he just missed a top 20 at Colonial a few weeks ago and his record at this major suggests he could sneak another at decent price.
US Open Betting Tips 5: Brian Harman 6/1 Top 20 - With Sky Bet
