Manchester City has already started to create a gap on the rest of the division at the top of the Premier League after scoring six times, conceding no goals, and winning twice from two games. At the same time, Liverpool slipped up again, while Manchester United registered arguably its worst result in 30 years of Premier League action.

After a wild Week 2, here’s our Premier League betting advice for this week.

Game of the Week

Liverpool -170 at Man United +420

It’s still the biggest game in English soccer when Liverpool and United meet, despite the gargantuan gap between the two clubs right now. What’s more, with two draws for Liverpool and two defeats for United, this game has rapidly become a must-win.

The Reds annihilated their rivals twice last season, scoring nine goals in the two league games and not letting in a single goal. Five of those goals came in a famous 5-0 thrashing at Old Trafford when Mohamed Salah scored a hat-trick, before a 4-0 demolition from Jurgen Klopp’s team at Anfield.

This fixture needs very little introduction at any stage in the season, but with the poor results for both so far, it’s now even more appealing. Moreover, despite a -170 price to beat United, Liverpool is still worth a bet here.

Liverpool to win 3-0 is +1300 with FanDuel.

Best Bet of the Week

Wolves +650 at Tottenham -260

Tottenham Hotspur has had a sensational few months. Its fantastic transfer window has been coupled with excellent form on the pitch after two games, and Tottenham is now coming into this game at -260 to beat a Wolves team in terrible form.

Wolves lost to Leeds United and tied with Fulham already this season, and it should have actually lost to Fulham, but Jose Sa’s penalty save earned his team a point. What’s more, the poor form of last season has seemingly continued into this campaign for Wolves, and it doesn’t bode well for it in such a hectic division in 2022/23.

Tottenham has scored six times already this season after beating Southampton 4-1, and following a 2-2 tie at Chelsea, it is a great bet for this weekend. Harry Kane to score first is +250 with DraftKings, and Tottenham to win 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 is -110 with DraftKings.

Wolves’ defensive record is good against Tottenham, so it could be a bit closer this time around, but we think it still loses.

Tottenham to win by two goals is +220 with DraftKings.

Team of the Week

Despite great wins for Arsenal and City last week, the team of the week must be Brentford. The Bees recorded their most famous result in their two-year Premier League stay so far, routing United 4-0.

From start to finish, Brentford battered and bullied its opposition. Even better for Brentford was how it scored all four goals in the first half, as Josh Dasilva, Mathias Jensen, Ben Mee and Byran Mbeumo all scored a goal each.

The scoreline could have been much higher than 4-0, and Brentford will head into its game with Fulham with as much confidence as it has ever had.

Ivan Toney to score anytime is +170 with PointsBet.

Player of Last Week

Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal

Although this could go to one of the many Brentford players that put in an historic performance against United, we can’t look past Gabriel Jesus’ efforts against Leicester City from last weekend.

The Brazilian scored twice in the win against the Foxes, and with it, he has established himself as one of the early contenders for the Golden Boot. Jesus was a menace in the forward positions for Arsenal against Leicester, and both his goals were taken very well, as he netted at the far post and scored with a smart finish just before that.

The Arsenal star is an easy pick for the player of last week, and we expect his form to continue this weekend against Bournemouth with another goal.

Gabriel Jesus to score first is +350 with FanDuel

Hardest Game to Call

Brentford +190 at Fulham +145

Two teams that have quite a history meet in the Premier League for the first time in a London derby this weekend, as Brentford heads to Fulham. The two met several times in the Championship, which included a playoff final win for Fulham to get into the Premier League two years ago.

Now in the Premier League, Brentford comes in after that stunning win over United, with Fulham also going unbeaten in the first two games. The Cottagers achieved a commendable tie against Liverpool on the opening weekend, before a 0-0 tie against Wolves last week which they could have won if it wasn’t for a missed penalty.

With both sides potentially set to fight relegation, this game truly could go either way.

A tie in this game is +240 with Caesars.
