How We Test and Rate NASCAR Betting Sites & Apps

There are plenty of quality NASCAR betting sites available worldwide. Therefore, it can be challenging to distinguish the best sites from the rest.

For this reason, we rate sportsbooks and take a detailed approach when reviewing NASCAR betting sites and apps.

We at Gambling.com have decades of combined experience testing and reviewing sports betting sites. After years of analyzing sites and reviewing feedback from real bettors, we’ve seen firsthand what makes or breaks a great betting site. Our goal is to connect you with books that aren’t just safe but offer great odds and a smooth experience from sign-up to payout.

Our team of industry-leading experts grades each of the betting sites they review on a scale of one to 10 across 10 different categories that we deem to be most important to sports bettors. To determine these scores, we don’t just sit behind a screen and rate sites—we test them, compare them, and really dig into the user experience to see how they stack up. Our process ensures we only recommend betting sites that meet our high standards.

Here are some of our main criteria for evaluating NASCAR betting sites:

Sports & Markets

The NASCAR season features dozens of Cup Series and Xfinity Series races. Coverage of these many races varies from site to site. Some operators provide a wide range of betting lines on all races, while others may only focus on the biggest races, such as the NASCAR Spring Cup Series Championship.

Promotions

The best online NASCAR betting sites gain bonus points if they deliver frequent promotions and bonuses. A large welcome bonus with reasonable wagering requirements is just the tip of the iceberg. You also want opportunities to earn bonus bets, loyalty rewards, and more at the best NASCAR betting apps.

Customer Support

Any worthwhile NASCAR betting site should offer good customer service and a safe app. You’ll also want a team that can quickly and knowledgeably respond to your questions.

Site User Experience

The best NASCAR betting sites can have different strengths, but they generally excel in common areas. They're all reputable and safe, offer plenty of markets, and feature a great overall experience. Regarding the latter, a quality betting experience includes helpful features and a user-friendly layout.

Responsible Gambling

We are committed to promoting responsible gambling. That’s why we only review fully licensed operators and offer tools and resources that address responsible betting practices.

Live Betting

Live betting offers an opportunity to keep wagering on NASCAR races after the green flag has been waved. For example, you might see updated odds on the current leading NASCAR drivers after 200 laps. So, you'll want to find a NASCAR betting site that provides many live wagers.

Odds Value

Many apps are roughly the same in terms of NASCAR betting lines. Nevertheless, some can provide more competitive odds than others, especially on a bet-by-bet basis. You stand a better chance of success by consistently finding the best odds on any given wager. That’s why it pays to shop around.

How to Sign Up for Online NASCAR Betting Sites and Apps

Factors to Consider when Betting on NASCAR

Placing successful NASCAR bets isn't an easy task. Nevertheless, you can improve your odds of winning by knowing some helpful tips.

The following NASCAR betting strategies will boost your chances of success.

  1. The Track

    The Track

The venue and a driver’s track record at that type of race are two of the most important factors when picking a winner. Some drivers excel at superspeedways, others shine on short tracks or road courses. Research and learn which surfaces they perform best on to make smarter bets.

Similarly, drivers may have a preference for specific NASCAR tracks. One driver might have a strong history at Daytona International Speedway, while another racer might love Martinsville Speedway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

  2. Qualifying NASCAR Races

    Qualifying NASCAR Races

Qualifying might not seem like a big deal at first, especially when you’re talking about races with 200 to 600 laps. But where you start can make a difference, depending on the track.

Take big tracks like Daytona or Indianapolis, for example. If a driver has a bad qualifying run, they have plenty of room to move up during the race. It’s much easier to pass when you have all that space.

On the flip side, smaller tracks like Bristol or Martinsville are much more challenging to recover from if you start at the back. A bad qualifying run can hurt your chances with tight racing and fewer places to pass.

  3. Recent NASCAR Performance

    Recent NASCAR Performance

Drivers' and teams' recent performances can provide valuable insight for future races.

For instance, the Chevrolet team may struggle on 1.5-mile tracks like Charlotte Motor Speedway, so their performance will unlikely drastically improve in the next race. Some individual drivers really shine at specific tracks.

  4. NASCAR’s Superspeedway Madness

    NASCAR’s Superspeedway Madness

Looking to pick a driver with the longest NASCAR odds to win? If so, your best chance is at faster tracks where accidents happen more frequently.

Daytona and Talladega are both notorious for crashes involving many cars. Such incidents increase volatility and open the door for less-heralded NASCAR drivers.

  5. X Factors

    X Factors

Sometimes, you can thoroughly analyze the betting odds, make a great pick, and then—poof—everything goes wrong. X factors are significant in the 40-driver fields and can ruin your picks. Personal rivalries and on-track incidents will derail seemingly sure things.

Such an event happened in 2015 between Logano and Matt Kenseth. Logano had won three straight in the Cup playoffs, only for Kenseth to wreck him in the next race intentionally.

What Are the Biggest NASCAR Events to Wager On?

The best NASCAR betting apps let you wager on many races each season. But what are the most significant events to bet on during the NASCAR season?

Check out the most popular Cup Series races from a fanfare and wagering perspective below.

Daytona 500 (Daytona International Speedway)

Known as the "Super Bowl" of NASCAR, the Daytona 500 kicks off each season. It occurs on the high-speed Daytona International Speedway, where cars often reach over 200 mph in tight packs.

Coca-Cola 600 (Charlotte Motor Speedway)

The Coca-Cola 600 is a noteworthy race for several reasons. First, it occurs on Memorial Day Weekend, when many are excited to kick back and watch racing.

Secondly, this event happens at the halfway point of the NASCAR season. A racer who hasn't had much luck up to this point can turn things around in Charlotte.

As a side note, the Coca-Cola 600 happens on the same day as the Indy 500, so fans enjoy two major races on one holiday weekend.

Coke Zero Sugar 400 (Daytona International Speedway)

The Coke Zero Sugar 400 is the final race of the regular season, making it the last chance for drivers to secure a spot in the playoffs. Any driver who hasn't won during the season has one last shot to earn their playoff spot with a victory at Daytona International Speedway.

Playoff Races

The NASCAR Cup Series enters its most exciting phase in October. This month marks the first of three Round-of-16 races, where only the top 16 drivers qualify. The events include the Cook Out Southern 500, Hollywood Casino 400, and Bass Pro Shops Night Race.

There are two ways to qualify for the playoffs:

  1. Win a race during the regular season.
  2. Finish in the top 16 in playoff points.

If there aren't enough qualifiers, the highest non-qualifying points earner(s) gets the nod.

The Cup playoffs continue with multiple Round-of-12 and Round-of-8 races. As covered below, the final four qualifiers from the Round of 8 get championship bids.

NASCAR Cup Series Championship

Since 2020, the Cup Series finale, marking the conclusion of each NASCAR season, has taken place at the Phoenix Raceway. This race gives the top 4 drivers in points a chance to make history.

It also provides gamblers with the opportunity to choose from many betting markets. Whether you're a fan of prop wagers or live betting, you'll find many opportunities to bet on the NASCAR Cup Series Championship.
