Ventures Lab Picks GeoLocs For Ontario Geolocation Compliance
Geolocation compliance provider GeoLocs, operated by mkodo, has confirmed a new partnership with Canadian operator Ventures Lab to support its Miki platform in Ontario, according to posts GeoLocs published on its own LinkedIn page in early August 2026.
The partnership covers Ventures Lab's online casino, sportsbook and live gaming products, giving players location verification designed to meet Ontario's regulatory requirements without added friction.
Ventures Lab chief executive Carlos Strazzer said the operator selected mkodo because of "their proven expertise in delivering seamless and compliant mobile experiences," adding that "their technology and collaborative approach have been instrumental in supporting our launch in Ontario," and that the company looks forward to "building on this partnership as we continue to expand our presence in regulated markets."
GeoLocs leans on its Alberta and Ontario track record
GeoLocs said it has supported operators in Alberta for five years and has built a comparable track record in Ontario since that province's regulated igaming market opened in 2022. The company describes its technology as browser-based geolocation designed to avoid requiring players to download a separate app, a feature it says helps operators keep onboarding friction low while still meeting provincial licensing conditions.
In a LinkedIn post confirming the deal, GeoLocs wrote: "We're proud to have supported Ventures Lab through their launch last month in Ontario," describing the operator as "another operator live with GeoLocs in Ontario." The post followed the Miki platform's Ontario launch, which took place the previous month according to GeoLocs' own account of the rollout.
Part of a wider Canadian expansion push
The Ontario deal continues a run of new-entrant partnerships GeoLocs has picked up as more operators launch in the province, following a similar approach the company has taken with charitable and land-based gaming platforms moving online.
The Ventures Lab deal adds to a run of Canadian partnerships GeoLocs has announced through 2026 as operators prepare for both Ontario's maturing market and Alberta's newly regulated igaming and mobile sports betting sector, which launched in July 2026. mkodo, GeoLocs' parent company, has operated in the gambling technology sector since 2001 and specialises in mobile-first compliance and front-end tools for lottery, casino, sportsbook and bingo operators.
For newer entrants like Ventures Lab, geolocation compliance sits alongside age verification and payment monitoring as one of the baseline technical requirements Ontario's regulator expects operators to have in place before launch. Securing an established compliance partner lets a new platform meet those requirements without building the underlying technology itself, a pattern GeoLocs has now repeated across multiple Ontario and Alberta operator launches this year.
Ontario's igaming market, regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario through iGaming Ontario, has grown steadily since opening in April 2022 and now hosts dozens of licensed sportsbook and casino operators, making established compliance vendors like GeoLocs a recurring choice for new entrants launching in the province.
