MGM Resorts, BetMGM Pledge $320,000 For Responsible Gaming

MGM Resorts International and BetMGM Sportsbook announced a combined $320,000 contribution to responsible gambling programs on September 1, 2026, as the companies renewed their partnership with the American Gaming Association (AGA) for Responsible Gaming Education Month (RGEM) throughout September.
The funding covers research through the International Center for Responsible Gaming, sponsorships for state problem gambling councils, support for the 1-800-GAMBLER helpline and a donation to the Evive Foundation, which provides digital tools and peer support for people affected by gambling.
GameSense Messaging Expands To NHL And WNBA Arenas
MGM Resorts and BetMGM are extending GameSense, a responsible gambling messaging program first developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) and licensed to MGM Resorts in 2017, into two new Las Vegas venues this year: T-Mobile Arena, home of the Vegas Golden Knights, and Michelob ULTRA Arena, home of the Las Vegas Aces.
GameSense content will also appear on LED ribbons and scoreboards during pre-game activities at 14 other venues, including Acrisure Stadium, Allegiant Stadium, Empower Field at Mile High, Ford Field, GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, Lincoln Financial Field, M&T Bank Stadium, MetLife Stadium, Nissan Stadium and State Farm Stadium, plus MLB ballparks Great American Ball Park, Comerica Park, Fenway Park, PNC Park and Nationals Park.
3,000 Employees Certified As GameSense Advisors
The companies have certified more than 3,000 employees through the GameSense Advisor training program, which now runs across more than 45 departments spanning both gaming and non-gaming resort areas.
Stephen Martino, SVP and Chief Compliance Officer at MGM Resorts International, said the number reflects how many employees have chosen to take an active role in promoting responsible gambling.
"What makes reaching 3,000 GameSense Advisors so meaningful is the number of employees who have chosen to take an active role in promoting responsible gaming for our guests," Martino said. "That collective commitment is helping us expand the reach and impact of our program across our company."
Rhea Loney, Chief Compliance Officer at BetMGM, said player protection remains a daily priority. "Player protection is a priority every day at BetMGM, and RGEM gives us an opportunity to highlight those efforts," Loney said.
"Through GameSense messaging in professional sports venues, employee education and investments in research and support services, we are helping players access the tools and resources they need to make informed decisions."

Additional Research And Support Commitments
Beyond the venue messaging and advisor training, MGM Resorts and BetMGM outlined several other commitments for September.
MGM Resorts is partnering with Carleton University on a casino employee research study and plans to host educational booths with the Nevada Council on Problem Gambling at its Las Vegas properties.
BetMGM is continuing its partnership with EPIC Global Solutions to offer employees a live experience session on the impact of problem gambling and will send customers targeted emails promoting GameSense tools.
Rob Lockwood, SVP of Strategic Communications at the AGA, said the partnership keeps responsible gambling messaging visible to players while supporting research.
"Responsible gaming has the greatest impact when the industry works together as we have with Play Smart from the Start," Lockwood said. "Our collaboration with MGM Resorts and BetMGM helps keep these important messages visible to players while supporting research and programs that can make a difference."
