Real Madrid have emerged as the odds-on favourites to sign PSG striker Kylian Mbappe before the transfer window slam shut this summer.

Last week, betting sites slashed the odds on him joining a Saudi club after Al-Hilal lodged a record-breaking €300m bid for his services.

PSG responded positively to the bid, as Mbappe has refused to sign a new contract and they risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.

However, reports then suggested that the French superstar refused to meet Al-Hilal to discuss the move after declaring he has no intention of playing in Saudi Arabia.

That leaves PSG in a precarious position, as they will be keen to recoup the €180m that they paid for his services in 2017.

He seemingly has his heart set on a move to Real Madrid, but Los Blancos would like him to join for free next summer.

It has set the stage for a battle of wills between Mbappe and PSG, and it remains to be seen how this one will play out.

However, the bookmakers believe Madrid remains his most likely destination this summer, and we have provided updated odds and analysis below.

Will Kylian Mbappe Join Real Madrid? Betting Odds Suggest It’s Still Likely

Real Madrid are now the 4/6 favourites with Ladbrokes to sign Mbappe from PSG during the summer transfer window.

He was on the brink of joining Los Blancos a year ago after they mounted a €200m bid, but he performed a dramatic U-turn and decided to stay in Paris instead.

Mbappe now appears to be ruing that decision, despite finishing as the top scorer in France as PSG wrapped up another Ligue 1 title in May.

He has rarely been deployed in his favoured position - on the left of an attacking triumvirate - and he has also fallen out with several teammates over his privileged position within the club.

PSG may dominate their domestic league, but they continue to fall short in Europe, and Mbappe has seemingly decided that greener pastures lie elsewhere.

He has refused to sign a new contract, and he plans to run his current deal down and move to Madrid on a free transfer when it expires in 12 months’ time.

According to Sky Sports, he will bank a £160m signing-on fee if he joins Real Madrid next summer, and he is reportedly prepared to sit tight in preparation for that move.

However, that would be a bitter pill for PSG to swallow, so the Ligue 1 champions are now actively trying to offload him.

Al-Hilal may have been rebuffed, but Mbappe also has wealthy suitors in the Premier League, and that may force Real Madrid into action.

Los Blancos need attacking reinforcements after bidding farewell to Karim Benzema this summer, and they will be determined not to miss out on Mbappe after coveting him for years.

As such, they are still the odds-on favourites to snap him up Mbappe before the current transfer window closes.

Will Kylian Mbappe Stay At PSG And Hold Out For A Free Transfer Next Summer?

A week ago, football betting sites were offering 5/1 on Mbappe remaining at PSG after the transfer window closes this summer.

However, that has now shortened to just 2/1 after he refused to entertain a move to Saudi Arabia.

Previous reports have suggested that the Parisians are prepared to bench him for an entire season if he does not sign a new deal or agree a blockbuster move away from the club.

Mbappe may be content to miss a year of football in order to land a £160m payday and a move to Madrid next summer.

PSG are expecting a “low and insulting offer” from the Spanish giants, so they may reject it on general principle.

As such, the chances of Mbappe staying put in Paris and sulking for a season are increasing, and some bookmakers will now only offer 11/10 on him remaining a PSG player after the window closes.

Do Liverpool Stand A Chance Of Signing Kylian Mbappe This Summer?

The odds on Liverpool signing Mbappe have shortened dramatically after they expressed an interest in the 24-year-old forward.

They need to do something drastic to close the gap on a Man City team led by Erling Haaland, so they could break the bank to sign a world-class striker of their own.

It would be a remarkable coup for the Reds, whose current transfer record is the £85.6m they paid Benfica for Darwin Nunez last summer.

Kylian Mbappe

The Uruguayan striker failed to hit the ground running on Merseyside, so they have reportedly entered talks with PSG over signing Mbappe.

They were priced at 33/1 to lure him to Anfield earlier this summer, but Liverpool are now just 14/1.

Yet it remains to be seen if they can afford him, and they cannot offer him Champions League football next season either, so it remains a long-shot.

Will Kylian Mbappe Move to Saudi Arabia? Betting Odds Shed Light On His Next Club

PSG gave Al-Hilal permission to talk to Mbappe after the Saudi Pro League club put forward a €300m bid for his services in July.

That would have shattered the current world transfer record of €222m, which PSG paid for Neymar six years ago.

Al Hilal, one of four clubs recently taken over by the Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund, were keen to offer Mbappe €700m to play for a single season.

They would have then allowed him to move to Real Madrid on a free transfer a year later, so it seemed like a neat solution to everyone’s problems.

Yet Mbappe then threw a spanner in the works by refusing to even discuss a move to Riyadh, so the odds on him joining any Saudi club have now drifted to 20/1 with Bet365.

Predicting Kylian Mbappe’s Next Move: Chelsea’s Outsider Status In Betting Odds

Chelsea are also now 20/1 with betting apps to bring Mbappe to Stamford Bridge this summer after The Daily Record reported that the Blues are working on a cash-plus-player deal for him.

They have a very large squad after embarking on a record-breaking spending spree over the past year, so there are plenty of players that could be used as makeweights.

A move to London may appeal to Mbappe, but a quick glance at last season’s Premier League table may also dissuade him from accepting any overtures from Chelsea.

Long-shots in this market include Arsenal and Newcastle, all of whom are priced at 40/1 with the top betting sites.

You can also find 50/1 on Man City, Man Utd and Barcelona, 80/1 on Bayern Munich and 100/1 on AC Milan, Juventus and Tottenham.
