Mbappe is certainly doing his prospects of landing a lucrative contract no harm with his performances this season, with over 35 goals this season in all competitions.

Here, we have taken a look at where the odds suggest the forward may be plying his trade at the start of next term.

Real Madrid Remain Best-Placed To Sign Kylian Mbappe

Real Madrid tried their utmost to sign Mbappe last summer. It is still hard to work out what was more remarkable: Los Blancos bidding £171.7m for a player who would be out of contract in less than a year’s time, or PSG turning the offer down.

Madrid were convinced their mammoth bid would be sufficient to land the France international, but PSG refused to budge.

Yet unlike last summer, Mbappe’s future is now in his own hands. The 23-year-old has long dreamed of wearing the famous white kit. He grew up with posters of Cristiano Ronaldo on his bedroom wall.

He has made no secret of his desire to play for Madrid, so it is no wonder they are a short price to sign Mbappe on most football betting sites.

PSG Have Not Given Up Hope Yet

The only logical reason for PSG rejecting that £171.7m offer from Madrid is that they still believe they can convince Mbappe to sign a new deal. According to The Athletic the Ligue 1 leaders have offered Mbappe a new three-year deal in a bid to get him to commit to the club 'short-term'.

A contract worth close to £1m per week is reportedly already on the table, with PSG determined to build their future around the World Cup winner. They are now rated at 7/10 on Paddy Power to keep hold of Mbappe.

In purely footballing terms, it would be brave of Mbappe to leave the Parc des Princes at this juncture. PSG have assembled arguably the most star-studded front three in the history of the game, with Mbappe able to develop his game alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Their performances have not always been consistent this season, but PSG will again be among the favourites in the Champions League betting offers next season despite bowing out early this term.

Perhaps, though, the arrival of Messi has pushed Mbappe closer to Madrid, where he would be able to become the undisputed star of the team. However, Real president Florentino Perez remains determined to form a European Super League even without English clubs and whether that's a project that would excite or deter Mbappe from moving to the Bernabeu is unknown.

Mbappe To Liverpool Odds

Jurgen Klopp

In recent months the odds on Liverpool signing Mbappe have drifted out to 22/1 with Betfair.

Up until now Liverpool have been preoccupied with tying Mohamed Salah down to a new deal, while the January arrival of Luis Diaz suggests they've already accepted defeat in the race to sign Mbappe.

But perhaps Jurgen Klopp would be willing to let Salah leave if he was able to bring in Mbappe as a replacement. Salah is arguably the best player in the world but he is also six years older than the Frenchman, who theoretically still has his peak years ahead of him.

One major stumbling block is Liverpool’s strict wage structure, which they would have to abandon to land Mbappe. But given he is a generational talent, perhaps the Reds would be willing to do just that.

That said, Klopp all but ruled the club out of the running this week when claiming Liverpool "cannot be part of these battles" given the finances involved, despite admitting his interest in signing Mbappe.

Could Man City Entice Mbappe To Manchester?

The odds suggest there are only two realistic options for Mbappe: join Real Madrid or stay at PSG.

That might be so as things stand, but there is a long time until July and another club could yet enter the race for a man who is widely regarded as a future Ballon d’Or winner.

Manchester City, available at 50/1, is perhaps the most logical of the non-PSG, non-Madrid destinations. For starters, they would have little trouble meeting Mbappe’s wage demands.

The forward would be joining an ambitious club that starts each season with the intention of winning every competition they enter. Mbappe would also have the chance to work under Pep Guardiola, arguably the greatest manager of his generation.

However, part of Mbappe’s attraction to Madrid appears to be the size and the history of the club.

City, like PSG, are newcomers to the stage marked ‘European heavyweights’. It is therefore unclear whether the Premier League champions would appeal to Mbappe.

There is also the small matter of Erling Haaland being a confirmed signing for City next season. From a fans' perspective, it would be an absolute dream pairing, but from the view of the players themselves they may see each other as a threat to their status. The Etihad is not big enough for the both of them, hence the wide odds on City signing Mbappe.

Newcastle and Manchester United Outsiders

In a few years’ time Newcastle (50/1) will hope to be in a position to sign some of the world’s best players.

But while the takeover of the club by the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia means the Magpies are not exactly short of cash, Mbappe will not view them as a realistic option this summer.

He wants to win the biggest trophies in the game right now and will not be interested in a project which may only offer that opportunity a few seasons down the line.

Manchester United are a much more established force, but they will also struggle to entice Mbappe and their odds of 40/1 enforce that fact.

The Red Devils are in transition and not currently in a position to compete for the biggest prizes in the game. They will not even be in the Champions League next season, with United having missed out on a top four finish in the Premier League.
