Kylian Mbappe’s name is once again in the headlines, with betting sites and the media alike believing he could be on the move this summer.

This is likely to be another disappointing season for Paris Saint-Germain, who were knocked out tamely by Bayern Munich in their Champions League last-16 tie.

Being crowned champions of Europe for the first time is an obsession for PSG, but they will have to wait a while longer yet.

Mbappe signed a new three-year contract at the Parc des Princes last summer, but that has not stopped him being linked with a move away.

Check out the latest transfer odds below, before we take a look at where Mbappe might be playing his football at the start of next season.

Qatari Links Open Up Possibility Of Old Trafford Switch

Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thani, a member of the Qatari royal family, is trying to buy Manchester United from the Glazer family.

His potential takeover at Old Trafford has raised the prospect of the Red Devils overtaking PSG and becoming Qatar’s principal focus in European football.

There has even been talk of United potentially signing Mbappe this summer, and they are indeed the joint-favourites at 8/1 with Unibet to do just that.

However, no one should be getting too excited just yet. There is no guarantee that Sheikh Jassim will be United’s next owner.

Indeed, it is not even certain that the Glazers will cash in on a club on the up. And even if United did pass into the hands of Qatar, this summer could come too soon for a swoop for Mbappe.

Real Madrid Could Yet Renew Interest In Frenchman

Real Madrid were burned by Mbappe’s remarkable U-turn last year.

For months on end, it looked like the France international was on his way to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, and Madrid felt they had Mbappe’s word that he would indeed join the Spanish giants.

But after being offered an extraordinarily lucrative deal by PSG, Mbappe decided to stay put.

Madrid president Florentino Perez was said to be fuming, but a refusal to re-enter a potential race for the 24-year-old would be akin to cutting off his nose to spite his face.

Madrid are the biggest club in the world and it is hard to imagine Mbappe not ending up there one day. This summer could come too soon for that move, though, as odds of 8/1 on football betting sites suggest.

Newcastle Looking For Statement Signing This Summer

Eddie Howe

Newcastle have spent hundreds of millions of pounds on new players since their controversial takeover by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund in October 2021.

But they are yet to make a real marquee signing. The acquisitions of Kieran Trippier, Alexander Isak and Bruno Guimaraes were all coups, but none is a true global superstar.

Could Mbappe be that man? The World Cup winner is given a 14/1 shot by BetUK of joining Newcastle ahead of next season, a price which indicates the unlikelihood of the Magpies being able to pull off such a deal.

Eddie Howe’s team have a great chance in the race for the top four in the Premier League, but failure to qualify for the Champions League would make this a non-starter.

Manchester City And Liverpool Among The Outsiders

Manchester City and Liverpool are priced respectively at 16/1 and 20/1 with betting apps

The Reds were once the second-favourites to sign Mbappe behind Real Madrid, but their chances of doing so now look slim.

That is in large part because Jurgen Klopp is about to embark on a major rebuilding job at Liverpool.

It could take a couple of years before they are ready to challenge for major prizes again, and much of the available funds this summer will go towards strengthening the midfield.

The prospect of Mbappe playing alongside Erling Haaland at Manchester City is mouth-watering, but it might not actually work out in practice.

Mbappe is arguably the best footballer on the planet, but that does not mean Pep Guardiola will endorse a move for him.

PSG Will Not Want To Sell Their Prized Asset

PSG pulled out all the stops to tie Mbappe down to a new deal last summer.

It is therefore hard to envisage a scenario where they willingly sell their star man in 2023, especially as the French club do not exactly need the money.

Lionel Messi is out of contract at the Parc des Princes at the end of June, while Neymar recently turned 31 and faces an uncertain future.

It is therefore difficult to see PSG selling Mbappe ahead of next season, even though his long-term future may well lie elsewhere.
