Ballon D'Or Odds: Harry Kane Catching Top Duo In Race To Be World's Best Player

One month after Ousmane Dembele won the Ballon d’Or, the race is on to be crowned the world’s best player for the 2025/26 season.
The PSG forward finished ahead of Barcelona prodigy Lamine Yamal, who is already co-favourite with Kylian Mbappe on betting sites to win next year’s award.
The season runs from August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2026, so performances at the World Cup in North America will count, but who will lift the most prestigious individual trophy in football?
Ballon d’Or Odds: Yamal On Front Foot
To win the Ballon d’Or, a player needs to have been part of a successful team and Yamal already looks on course for silverware with club and country in the next 10 months.
Yamal has netted two goals and provided four assists this season for Barcelona, who are just a couple of points adrift of leaders Real Madrid in La Liga.
The teenage winger has played his part in the early stages of the Champions League, scoring a penalty in a 6-1 rout of Olympiacos, although Barca are just outside the top eight after three games.
European champions Spain are the 4/1 favourites with most football betting sites to lift the World Cup for a second time, so everything is in Yamal’s favour.
At 18 years of age, Yamal has plenty of time on his hands to win multiple Ballon d’Or awards, but he is 3/1 joint-favourite with Bet365 as things stand.

Ballon d’Or Odds: Mbappe A Goal Machine
Mbappe has burst out of the blocks for club and country this season with 18 goals across all competitions from just 15 appearances, and is also 3/1 to win the Ballon d’Or.
The striker had scored in 11 consecutive matches for Real Madrid and France, only for that run to end in a 1-0 victory over Juventus in the Champions League.
Mbappe is already the leading scorer in both La Liga and the Champions League with 10 and five goals respectively, and he is the top marksman for France in World Cup qualifying with three.
With Los Blancos top of La Liga and fifth in the League phase of the Champions League, it already promises to be an excellent season for the former PSG star.
Ballon d’Or Odds: Prolific Kane Stakes Claim
Michael Owen was the last English player to win the Ballon d’Or, but could Harry Kane end a 25-year wait by becoming the next one?
The England captain was rated the 10th best player in 2017 and 2018, but he has been on fire for club and country this season.
Kane has scored 12 goals from seven appearances for Bayern Munich – already seven clear of his nearest rivals – and has supplied three assists, just one off the leading bunch.
The former Tottenham striker also shares top spot with Mbappe in the Champions League goalscoring chart (five).
England have already qualified for next year’s World Cup and are second favourites with France to lift the trophy in North America, so Kane is clearly a livewire to win the Ballon d’Or at 7/1 on betting apps.

Haaland And Dembele In The Frame
Erling Haaland is unlikely to win the World Cup with Norway, but his goalscoring prowess this season has given Manchester City a great chance of winning the Premier League and Champions League.
His 11 Premier League goals are already five more than nearest challenger Antoine Semenyo, and he is challenging top spot in the Champions League with four.
Haaland is 10/1 in the Ballon d’Or betting odds, the same price as current holder Dembele.

The PSG forward started the season well with a couple of goals in a 6-3 win at Toulouse, but missed the next seven games after picking up an injury during a World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.
Dembele returned to action in the Champions League this week, scoring as a second-half substitute in a 7-2 rout of Bayer Leverkusen.
The French giants are favourites to retain their European trophy and to win Ligue 1 for a fifth consecutive time despite winning just one of their last four games.

Pedri And Vinicius Jr Bubbling Under
Pedri is one of the unsung heroes in Barcelona’s midfield and is 14/1 to win the Ballon d’Or, just ahead of Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr, who is 16/1.
Both players have realistic chances of winning the World Cup with Spain and Brazil respectively, and their clubs are primed to reach the knockout stage of the Champions League.
Vinicius Jr felt he should have won the 2023/24 Ballon d’Or which instead went to Manchester City midfielder Rodri.
As a consequence, Vinicius Jr and Real Madrid boycotted the award ceremony.
Bellingham Back On Song
There is quite a gap to the next contenders which sees England midfielder Jude Bellingham, Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi and PSG’s Vitinha all priced at 20/1.
Bellingham missed the first month after undergoing shoulder surgery, but scored his first goal of the season in Real Madrid’s 1-0 victory over Juventus.
Olise has scored four goals and provided two assists this season for Bayern Munich, who have a good chance of winning both the Bundesliga and Champions League, as well as the World Cup with France.
Messi has the most goals and assists for MLS Cup hopefuls Inter Miami, but he would surely have to win the World Cup with Argentina to stand a chance of winning the Ballon d’Or.
Saka And Salah Outsiders
Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is starting to fire on all cylinders after an injury-hit start to the season and is 25/1 for the Ballon d’Or.
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, though, has looked a shadow of his former self, scoring just one goal from open play in the Premier League.
The four-time Premier League Golden Boot winner was on the bench for the Reds’ last two Champions League games and is an unlikely candidate as things stand.
