Next Celtic Manager Odds: O'Neill Refuses To Rule Himself Out Of The Running

Martin O'Neill refused to rule himself out of being Celtic's next permanent manager, after his side beat Rangers 3-1 to book their place in the Scottish League Cup final.
As a result, football betting sites have made the Ulsterman favourite for the role.
Immediately after the semi-final win, the interim manager was asked if the victory made him want the job on a permanent basis. O'Neill replied: "Ask me tomorrow. Today, no.
"I was 73 on Monday, I'm 94 now. Did I enjoy it? Not one bit."
O'Neill was half joking after watching 10-man Rangers take the tie to extra-time, when Callum McGregor and teenager Callum Osmand scored to set up a showdown with St Mirren in the December 14 final.
We check out the latest odds on who will be named Celtic's next manager.

O'Neill Plays Down Chances
O'Neill has only been back for two games in his caretaker role, but the fans have made it clear they want their former manager to get the job on a full-time basis.
Hoops fans have seen O'Neill's side score seven goals. Brendan Rodgers' side scored that number in his final seven games, before he decided to walk away from the club for a second time.
The affable O'Neill joked he would be back working as a pundit "sooner than you think," but if his side continues to win and score as many goals as they are, then he might be persuaded to stay on longer.
For now, O'Neill is the 9/2 favourite on betting apps.

Time Might Be Right For McKenna To Move On
Kieran McKenna's stock has never been higher and he might be looking at alternative jobs.
The 39-year-old will forever be remembered as the man who ended Ipswich's 22-year absence from the Premier League.
The return was short lived, however, and the Tractor Boys find themselves back in the Championship, where they are ninth after a 4-1 at Queens Park Rangers.
McKenna is 5/1 to answer's Celtic's call to be their next permanent manager.
Celtic's Last Five Managers:
2014-2016 | 2016-2019 | 2019-2021 | 2021-2023 | 2023-2025 |
Deila | Rodgers | Lennon | Postecoglou | Rodgers |
Ange Return Remains A Possibility
The time could be right for Ange Postecoglou to make a sensational return to Parkhead, although his odds have slumped from 7/4 favourite to 13/2 in recent days.
Postecoglou had two very successful seasons at Celtic, winning five of the six domestic trophies available to the club.
Since leaving, the Australian has had mixed fortunes at Tottenham, where he won the Europa League, and at Nottingham Forest, where he was sacked after just 39 days.
Celtic fans would welcome Postecoglou back in a heartbeat if he can replicate the success he had in his first spell.
Keane Available If Required
Robbie Keane enjoyed a short-lived loan spell at Celtic during the 2009/10 season, but he has since been making his name in the dugout.
The former Republic of Ireland striker has won titles as a manager in Israel and Hungary with Maccabi Tel Aviv and Ferencvaros respectively.
This season has been a bit of a struggle in the Hungarian top flight, so he may not need a second invitation to join the club he supports.
Keane is now 8/1 on football betting sites to become Celtic's next manager.
Celtic's Next Four Fixtures:
Competition | Date | Fixture | ||
Europa League | Nov 6 | Midtjylland | vs | Celtic |
SPFL | Nov 9 | Celtic | vs | Kilmarnock |
SPFL | Nov 22 | St Mirren | vs | Celtic |
Europa League | Nov 27 | Feyenoord | vs | Celtic |
Carsley's Name Added To The Market
Lee Carsley is a new name on the market to be Celtic's next manager.
Carsley has guided England's U21s to back-to-back European glory and has resisted the temptation to return to club management following those successes.
The former Everton and Republic of Ireland midfielder may be content to stay where he is, but for now he is 8/1 to take the Celtic job.

Knutsen Leads The Outsiders
Bodo/Glimt manager Kjetil Knutsen (10/1) is destined for bigger things. The Celtic job may be too much of a step-up for the Norwegian, who deserves to be linked with big jobs.
Wilfried Nancy (10/1) has made his name as manager of Columbus Crew, where he won the MLS Cup (2023) and Leagues Cup (2024).
Current Wales manager Craig Bellamy (14/1), Club Brugge boss Nicky Hayen (16/1) and John Kennedy (18/1), who is on the backroom staff at Celtic, complete the list.
