Next Celtic Manager Odds: Time Up For Brendan Rodgers? Who's Next In Line?

Celtic have had a turbulent start to the new season and the best betting sites are offering odds on whether a new manager could be appointed in the near future.
Brendan Rodgers led the Hoops to the Scottish Premiership title last season and his side top the table after five games of the new campaign, but all does not seem well at Parkhead.
Rodgers called for investment in the squad over the summer but was left disappointed by what he perceived to be a lack of backing from the board.
Celtic then lost a Champions League play-off to Kairat which meant they were demoted to the Europa League.

To make matters worse, an unknown insider at Celtic told The Scottish Sun that Rodgers was trying to engineer a move from the club over tension surrounding the lack of transfer activity.
It is by no means certain that Rodgers will leave, but the relationship between the manager and his superiors is clearly strained.
Celtic have started the Premiership season well and Rangers are in disarray, so Rodgers is not under any sort of pressure - nevertheless he could be on the move sooner rather than later.
Has Rodgers reached the end of the line or will he kiss and make up with the club's board?
We take a look at the latest football odds on the candidates to replace Rodgers should he leave the club for a second time.
Nuno Could Make Instant Return
Nuno Espirito Santo rebuilt his reputation at Nottingham Forest after a disappointing stint at Tottenham and is 2/1 favourite to be the next Celtic manager.
Despite leading Forest into Europe last season, Nuno was sacked earlier this month after admitting his relationship with club owner Evangelos Marinakis had deteriorated.
Nuno may want to take a few months out of management to recharge his batteries.
On the other hand, he may decide to jump straight back in - especially if a club like Celtic were to come calling.
However, the Portuguese prefers a counter-attacking game that would arguably make him an awkward fit for Celtic, who routinely dominate possession in Scotland.
Next Celtic Manager Odds
Manager | Odds | Probability |
Nuno Espirito Santo | 2/1 | 33.3% |
Kjetil Knutsen | 3/1 | 25% |
Robbie Keane | 4/1 | 20% |
Scott Brown | 4/1 | 20% |
Sean Dyche | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Damien Duff | 5/1 | 16.7% |
Erik ten Hag | 7/1 | 12.5% |
Ruud van Nistelrooy | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Michael Carrick | 10/1 | 9.1% |
Gareth Southgate | 12/1 | 7.7% |
Knutsen A Long-Time Candidate
This is not the first time Kjetil Knutsen has been linked with Celtic.
The Norwegian was the favourite for the job after Ange Postecoglou joined Tottenham, but Rodgers ultimately returned for a second spell in Glasgow.
Football betting sites have Knutsen down as the second-favourite at a price of 3/1.
Knutsen is the architect behind Bodo/Glimt’s remarkable success over the last few years.
The 56-year-old has won four Norwegian league titles with his current employers, and he also led them to the semi-finals of the Europa League in 2024/25. Knutsen would be an interesting pick.
Keane And Brown Have Connections
Former Celtic players Robbie Keane and Scott Brown had very different careers at Parkhead, but they are both 4/1 to be the next manager to jump into the Hoops hot seat.
Keane only played for the Hoops on loan, scoring 16 goals in 19 appearances in 2009/10.
Brown turned out 619 times for Celtic, winning 22 major trophies along the way.
Managing Celtic would represent a big move for both men, though. Keane has more top-level experience with Maccabi Tel Aviv and now Ferencvaros, one of the biggest clubs in Hungary.
Brown is currently at the helm of Ayr, so this would be a significant step up for the former Bhoys captain.

Dyche And Duff In The Frame
Sean Dyche and Damien Duff (5/1) are seen as dark horses on betting apps.
Dyche worked wonders at Burnley over several seasons, and although things eventually went sour at Everton, he initially did well to keep them in the Premier League.
However, there are question marks over Dyche’s preferred style of play, which is better suited to underdogs.
Duff is looking for his next opportunity after leaving Shelbourne earlier this year.
The former Chelsea winger spent four years in charge of the Irish outfit and led them to the title in 2024.
Duff could be one of the names on Celtic’s shortlist if a vacancy arises, but a relative lack of experience might count against him.
Ten Hag Leads Outsiders
Elsewhere, former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, who was sacked by Bayer Leverkusen just two Bundesliga games into the new season, is 7/1.
Ex-Red Devils striker Ruud van Nistelrooy was shown the door by Leicester towards the end of June and is available at 8/1.
Michael Carrick is still looking for a new job following his dismissal by Middlesbrough and is 10/1, while former England head coach Gareth Southgate can be backed at 12/1.

Hoops fans, is Brendan Rodgers still the right man to lead Celtic? Or is there someone you have in mind for the job at Parkhead?
