Next Everton Manager Odds: Moyes Favourite To Replace Sacked Dyche
Just hours before Everton were due to play Peterborough in the FA Cup on Thursday evening, Everton decided to sack manager Sean Dyche.
The search is now underway for Dyche's replacement, but who will it be?
Jose Mourinho is the second favourite behind David Moyes at the top of the 'Next Everton Manager' market, now that Dyche has been relieved of his duties.
In the last few weeks under Dyche, the Toffees won just one of their last 11 league games, taking nine points from a possible 33.
Everton, who are one point clear of the relegation zone, will open their new stadium at the start of the 2025/26 season and they will hope to still be a Premier League side.
Betting sites continue to monitor the situation now that Dyche's time on Merseyside has come to an end.
Could new owners Friedkin tempt Mourinho back to the Premier League, which he won three times as manager of Chelsea, or could Moyes make a sensational return to the club he managed for over a decade?

Could Moyes Make Emotional Return To Everton?
David Moyes revealed that he was close to rejoining Everton in 2019, before Carlo Ancelotti took the job at Goodison Park.
The Scot could be on his way back to the blue half of Merseyside soon, with Moyes currently priced as the 1/4 favourite to succeed Dyche. It is unclear what the fans would think about such a move.
Some would doubtless see it as a step backwards for the club, while others would presumably welcome back a manager who did a fantastic job in his first spell.
Moyes did a good job at West Ham, so he has proved he can still cut it at this level, but his football is not known to be the most attractive.
Mourinho Has Unfinished Premier League Business
No matter where he is managing, there is always a feeling that Mourinho has unfinished business with the Premier League.
He's won the league three times with Chelsea in two different spells, and while his time at Tottenham and Manchester United weren't as successful, a return can never be ruled out.
The Portuguese is currently managing Fenerbahce in Turkey and the lure of managing Everton as they move to their new stadium could do the trick.
Mourinho is 6/1 joint-second favourite to replace Dyche as Everton manager.
Fonseca To Reunite With The Friedkin Group?
Paulo Fonseca is currently without a job after being sacked by AC Milan in December with the club sitting eighth in Serie A and 12th in the 36-team Champions League standings.
His experience of managing in Europe's top leagues might be limited, but he can point to success in Portugal and Ukraine, where he won three top flight titles.
Fonseca was in charge of Roma when The Friedkin Group bought the Serie A club in 2020 who then relieved him of his duties in June 2021, replacing him with Mourinho.
It remains to be seen if Everton's new owners are open to the idea of reuniting with the 51-year-old on Merseyside, but he is currently 6/1 to be the Blues' next manager.

Carsley Served The Club Well As A Player
Most of Lee Carsley's career as a player was spent at Everton, where he made 166 appearances from February 2002 to May 2008.
More recently, Carsley has been establishing himself as a coach, which he has done with aplomb. Carsley led England's U21s to European glory in the summer of 2023.
Following Gareth Southgate's decision to step down, Carsley was England's interim manager before the appointment of Thomas Tuchel.
Carsley is 12/1 to replace Dyche as Everton's next manager.
Southgate Among The Other Candidates
Former England manager Gareth Southgate has been taking time out since stepping down after the Euro 2024 final defeat to Spain last summer.
Knighted in the New Year Honours list, he spent eight years with the national team, reaching two major finals, but has only had one club management role, a three-year stint at Middlesbrough
According to football betting sites, Southgate's odds are now 16/1.
Others in the conversation to be Everton's next manager include Steve Cooper (25/1), who was recently sacked by Leicester, former Wolves boss Gary O'Neil (25/1), interim manager and under 18s boss Leighton Baines (25/1).
