Next Rangers Manager Odds: Dyche New Favourite To Replace Struggling Martin

The pressure remains on Rangers manager Russell Martin despite last Sunday's goalless draw with arch rivals Celtic, which is unlikely to appease those supporters calling for his head.
Gary O'Neil was the early favourite on betting sites to replace Martin, but former Burnley and Everton boss Sean Dyche now leads the way to take the reins at Ibrox.
In one of the dreariest Old Firm derbies in memory, Gers centre-back John Souttar had a first-half header ruled out after a VAR review, but it was otherwise a drab game lacking quality.
The omission of fans' favourite Nico Raskin from Sunday's squad did not go down well with supporters, who were calling for his name during the match.
The Light Blues remain six points behind leaders Celtic after drawing their first four games of the season and are out of the Champions League following a 9-1 aggregate drubbing by Club Brugge in the play-off round.
Martin said the 6-0 second-leg defeat by the Belgians was "probably the toughest night" he had ever experienced as a head coach and there were rumours he would have been sacked if Rangers had lost to Celtic.
The former Southampton boss remains in the hot seat for now, although his position is hanging in the balance.
We take a look at potential candidates to replace Martin and the latest next Rangers manager odds.
Dyche Would Be Perfect For Ibrox Role
Sean Dyche will be eager to prove he still has what it takes to manage on the big stage – and few roles come bigger than Rangers.
He transformed Burnley, winning two promotions to the Premier League and guiding them to a seventh-place finish in 2018 that secured Europa League qualification.
Dyche again showed his ability to work in difficult circumstances by keeping Everton up in 2024 despite significant points deductions.
Out of work since leaving the Toffees in January, he would surely view Ibrox as a chance to reaffirm his credentials as a top-level coach.
Dyche is now the 3/1 favourite with betting apps to take the Rangers job.

Gerrard Return On The Cards?
Steven Gerrard was linked with a return to Ibrox earlier in the summer before the club eventually opted for Martin.
The former Liverpool captain is revered in the blue half of Glasgow for halting Celtic’s bid for 10 successive titles, guiding Rangers to the Premiership crown in 2021.
Gerrard, who has been out of work since leaving Al-Ettifaq in January, remains a hero among supporters for that achievement.
Although linked with several clubs since his return to England, few roles would be as appealing as a second spell at Ibrox.
He is 7/2 on football betting sites to replace Martin.
Rohl In The Reckoning
Danny Rohl’s impact at troubled Sheffield Wednesday should not be overlooked.
The German took charge in October 2023 after the club’s worst ever start to a season and inspired a remarkable turnaround that kept them in the Championship.
Rohl then guided the Owls to a top-half finish before leaving the club just weeks ahead of the new campaign.
His reputation remains strong, and is priced at 4/1 to become the next Rangers manager.
O'Neil Loses Favourite Status
O’Neil’s managerial ability is unquestionable, and he could be the man to bring success back to Ibrox.
He guided Wolves to a 14th-place finish in 2024, with notable wins over Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham underlining his ability to compete against top opposition.
His earlier success at Bournemouth, securing Premier League survival after a six-match unbeaten run as caretaker, showcased his knack for steadying sides under pressure.
The Englishman has been out of work since leaving Wolves in December 2025, but the chance to manage a club of Rangers’ stature would surely appeal.
O’Neil was the 5/4 favourite in the next Rangers manager market, but his odds have since drifted to 9/2.
Mourinho Words Not Forgotten
Fenerbahce's failure to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League spelt the end of Jose Mourinho's one-year reign at the Turkish club.
Rangers fans remember Mourinho's words when asked whether he would like to manage the Glasgow giants one day, prior to Fener's Europa League round of 16 second leg in Scotland.
He said: "In this moment, no, because I have a job that motivates me and a job that demands loyalty. But why not in the future?
"People can say that the Scottish league is a league of two teams, but it's a league of passion. And for me, passion in football is everything."
Serial winner Mourinho, who won the Premier League three times with Chelsea and the Champions League with Porto and Inter Milan, would surely be welcomed with open arms by the Rangers faithful and is 6/1 to get the job.
Carrick Could Be Keen On Quick Return
Michael Carrick joined the list of out-of-work managers after being sacked by Middlesbrough following their failure to reach the play-offs in May.
He left the Riverside with a win percentage of 46.3%, but paid the price for not securing promotion to the Premier League.
Several clubs are expected to hold talks with Carrick in the coming months, with Rangers potentially offering the most attractive opportunity at present.
Carrick was 3/1 to replace Martin at Ibrox, but is now 8/1.
Would Ferguson Fancy A Return?
Rangers legend Barry Ferguson stepped in following Philippe Clement’s departure in February – and could yet be asked to do so again.
He managed six wins from 15 matches in charge, with a 2-2 draw against Hibs in May his final game.
“I’ve already lived the dream as a player and captain of Rangers, and to do so as head coach in these last three months has been an enormous honour,” Ferguson said at the time.
With Rangers struggling at the start of the new season, he is 8/1 to return to the dugout.
Cooper An Outsider
Steve Cooper (10/1), praised for his tactical organisation and youth development, guided Nottingham Forest to Premier League promotion in 2022.
His brief spell at Leicester ended in November 2024 after five months, but his composed leadership and success with limited resources could make him a strong fit for Rangers.
Elsewhere, former Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder is 12/1, with former Rangers defender Kevin Muscat, coach of Chinese side Shangai Port, a dark horse at 16/1.
Ex-Borussia Dortmund and Leipzig head coach Marco Rose is also 16/1.
