Next Rangers Manager Odds: More Embarrassment As Muscat Snubs Former Club

Just when Rangers looked set to name their replacement for Russell Martin, their search took another dramatic twist.
Kevin Muscat entered the weekend as favourite for the vacancy, but he has followed in the footsteps of Steven Gerrard and Danny Rohl and decided now is not the time to return to his former club.
The soap opera is keeping betting sites busy as they update their odds accordingly.
On the pitch, results continue to frustrate fans. An 87th minute goal from skipper James Tavernier rescued a point for Rangers, who had Steven Smith in charge of first team duties.
The 2-2 draw leaves Gers 13 points behind early leaders Hearts and eight behind their bitter rivals Celtic after just eight games played.
However, former Sheffield Wednesday manager Rohl is back at the top of the market to be Rangers' next manager.
Rohl Back As Favourite
At this stage of the process, we shouldn't be surprised by anything, even seeing Rohl back as favourite for the Rangers role.
Rohl held talks with the club recently before deciding to withdraw from the race, so both parties know what the other wants.
The German is available following his departure from Sheffield Wednesday prior to the start of the season and for now, Rohl is the 1/2 favourite to be named Rangers' next manager.

Could Knutsen Be The Man?
Kjetil Knutsen has been a regular name linked to get a job in British football.
The Bodo/Glimt manager is destined for bigger things, and while Rangers would be a much bigger job, it might suit the Norwegian.
Knutsen is 7/2 on football betting sites to end the managerial soap opera currently being played out at Ibrox.

Solskjaer Seeks New Challenge
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's experience of managing Besiktas in Turkey could serve him well in this process.
The former Manchester United boss (5/1) was shown the door after Besiktas' failure to qualify for the league stage of this season's Champions League.
Solskjaer's reputation needs to be rebuilt and, like those tipped to take the job before him, he may decide the job is not for him right now.

Gerrard Interest Cools
It's been a season of disappointing blows for Rangers fans and just when they thought their Messiah was returning to the club, Gerrard decided to walk away.
That suggests the club's turmoil behind the scenes is worse than people think.
After leading the market a few days ago, Gerrard can now be backed at 16/1 for an Ibrox return, but those odds could lengthen further in the coming days.
The former Aston Villa manager might decide to wait for a better job at a club with more stability.
McInnes Still In The Frame
Derek McInnes' stock has never been higher than right now.
His Hearts side sit top of the table, five points clear of Celtic, who they face next at Tynecastle.
A win will put the Edinburgh side in a great position, but will McInnes (20/1) be tempted to jump ship and take the Rangers job?

Dyche And Ferguson Among Outsiders
Sean Dyche and Barry Ferguson could be just what Rangers need right now and both are 20/1 for the Ibrox vacancy.
Stephen Robinson's wait for a bigger job than St Mirren might have to continue as he is also a 20/1 shot on betting apps.
Neil McCann, Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick and Gary O'Neil are all 25/1 to be named Martin's replacement in the Rangers dugout.
