Next Rangers Manager Odds: Can Gerrard Revive Rangers' Fortunes?

After 123 days, Russell Martin is out as Rangers manager with betting sites quick to offer odds on his replacement.
The former Scotland international, who joined the Ibrox club on a three-year deal in June, was sacked after winning just five of his 17 games in charge.
He arrived six months after being dismissed by Southampton and leaves as the shortest-serving permanent manager in Rangers’ history.
Martin had been under intense pressure for weeks, but club chiefs resisted calls to dismiss him despite mounting fan anger.
A 1-1 draw with Falkirk proved the final straw, followed by ugly scenes as ultras surrounded the team bus and Martin required a police escort to leave safely.
Attention now turns to his successor, with Steven Gerrard leading the betting to become the next Rangers manager.
Rangers fans - who do you want as your next boss?

Gerrard Set For Ibrox Return
During his first spell at the club, Gerrard famously delivered a long-awaited Scottish Premiership title in the 2020/21 season, going unbeaten and ending Celtic’s nine-in-a-row dominance.
He remains hugely popular among Rangers supporters, who credit him with restoring pride and standards to the club.
Although his later managerial stints at Aston Villa and in Saudi Arabia brought mixed results, his record at Ibrox speaks for itself.
With his understanding of the club’s culture, ability to handle pressure and proven winning mentality, Gerrard would likely be a popular appointment.
The former Liverpool and England midfielder is currently 7/4 favourite to be next in the Ibrox dugout.

Ibrox Challenge Could Suit Dyche
Sean Dyche will be eager to prove he still has what it takes to manage on the big stage - and few jobs come bigger than Rangers.
He transformed Burnley, winning two promotions to the Premier League and guiding them to a seventh-place finish in 2018 that secured Europa League qualification.
Dyche again showed his ability to work in difficult circumstances by keeping Everton up in 2024 despite significant points deductions.
Out of work since leaving the Toffees in January, he would surely view Ibrox as a chance to reaffirm his credentials as a top-level coach.
Dyche is currently 11/4 to take the Rangers job according to William Hill.

Is Danny Ready For Next Role?
Danny Rohl has quickly established himself as one of the brightest young managers in British football and is now being tipped as a potential successor at Rangers.
At just 36, he has already demonstrated impressive tactical maturity and leadership at Sheffield Wednesday, transforming them from relegation candidates into a disciplined, energetic and attacking side.
Rohl’s coaching background includes roles with the German national team and RB Leipzig, giving him experience in elite-level football and modern tactical systems.
For Rangers, his appointment would represent a forward-thinking move - blending youthful innovation, player development and a high-intensity style aligned with the club’s long-term ambitions.
The German is now among the frontrunners in the next Rangers manager market at 3/1.

Muscat The Man For The Moment?
Kevin Muscat has emerged as one of the contenders to become the next Rangers manager following Russell Martin’s departure.
A former Rangers defender, he understands the club’s culture and expectations, having played under Ibrox’s demanding standards..
Now managing Shanghai Port, he won the Chinese league in 2024, adding to titles in Australia and Japan.
However, with Port chasing another title, questions remain over his willingness to return to the UK - and the new owners’ readiness to pay compensation.
Muscat is priced at 4/1 for the job with football betting sites.

McInnes Might Have Decision To Make
Derek McInnes (5/1) has long been linked with the Rangers job, though opinion among supporters remain divided.
The 54-year-old turned down the role in 2017, frustrating some fans.
However, his stock has risen after guiding Premiership leaders Hearts - 11 points clear of Rangers after seven games, including a 2–0 win at Ibrox in September - since taking charge in May following his Kilmarnock exit.
McInnes must now weigh the pull of his boyhood club against the growing optimism surrounding his impressive Tynecastle project.
Ancelotti Among Outsiders
Davide Ancelotti was a strong contender for the Rangers job before Martin was chosen by the new Ibrox owners.
The former Real Madrid coach reached the final interview stage in the summer but missed out as Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises opted for Martin.
Now under pressure at Botafogo, Ancelotti is 16/1 to get the job second time around.
Other names in the frame include Brian Piske (20/1), Barry Ferguson (25/1), Ole Gunnar Solskjaer (33/1) and Michael Carrick (33/1).
