The Masters Betting Odds: Scottie Scheffler Vs Rory McIlroy

Augusta plays host to the first major of the year, where the world's best golfers will be hoping to add a Green Jacket to their wardrobes.
All eyes will be on Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy - the top two players in the world.
Unfortunately, they haven't been drawn in the same group to start with. We might have to wait until the weekend for that.
The pair top the market on the best betting sites to be top of the leaderboard this week, but which will perform the best?
McIlroy got the better of the American in 2020, when the tournament was played in November because of the COVID pandemic, with the Northern Irishman finishing fifth to Scheffler's tie for 19th.
Since then, Scheffler has finished above the Northern Irishman in each of the last four events.
The closest McIlroy came to winning at Augusta was in 2022, when he finished second, three shots behind Scheffler.
Can this be the year that McIlroy finally completes the career Grand Slam, or will Scheffler be wearing a third Green Jacket on Sunday?
Bet365 have odds of 12/5 for the pair against the field to be crowned the 2025 Masters champion.
At Gambling.com, we've analysed the scorecards of each player on their visits to Augusta to discover where their strengths and weaknesses lie, as well as the betting trends you should know.
Best/Worst Holes For Scheffler And McIlroy
For Rory McIlroy, the 15th hole is his most profitable hole. In the 58 rounds at Augusta, the 35-year-old is -29 on the 550-yard, par 5.
The last time McIlroy dropped a shot on the hole called Firethorn was in his final round in 2014. Since then, he has gone 22 under par thanks to an eagle, 20 birdies and 15 pars.
Par 5s have saved McIlroy many times at Augusta. For the par 3s and par 4s, the Ulsterman is a combined +74, while on the longer par 5s, he is -97.
McIlroy's worst hole is the 11th, where he is +21 since making his Masters debut in 2009.
Aggregate Hole Scores For Scheffler And McIlroy:
As for Scheffler, his best hole is the 585-yar, par 5 second. The American has only played in five Masters tournaments, post top-20 finishes in each.
The 2022 and 2024 champion is -14 for the hole called Pink Dogwood. In fact, Scheffler has never dropped a shot at the second or the eighth or 16th holes.
The 28-year-old's worst hole is the 18th, with a combined score of +6. Scheffler has only carded five double bogeys and two have come on the final hole.
In a head-to-head against each other, Scheffler is 4/6 with William Hill to finish above McIlroy, who is 11/10 to be higher than his rival on the leaderboard after 72 holes.
Prayers Answered At Amen Corner
The three holes that make up Amen Corner at Augusta can make or break a golfer's dream of winning the Masters.
Golfers have to ignore the reputation built up on the 11th, 12th and 13th and Scheffler and McIlroy have reasonably good history on that part of the course, isolated from the patrons.
Player | Amen Corner Score |
S Scheffler | -8 |
R McIlroy | -2 |
Scheffler is -8 through the three challenging holes, while McIlroy is -2 for the stretch that starts with the 520-yard par 4, has the 155-yard par 3 in the middle and concludes with the 545-yard par 5.
McIlroy's meltdown when he blew a four-shot lead at the start of the final round in 2011 started just before Amen Corner, and a four-putt double bogey on the 12th shattered his dream of winning The Masters.
If either golfer is to top the leaderboard on Sunday night, then they will have to negotiate their way around Amen Corner with their hopes still intact.
McIlroy and Scheffler to finish in the top five this week can be backed at 4/1 on betting apps.

71 Is A Popular Score
Don't be surprised if both Scheffler and McIlroy sign for scores of 71 this week, as it is a popular score for each.
Of the 20 rounds Scheffler has played at Augusta, 40% (eight) have been 71, while 25.8% of McIlroy's 58 rounds have been one under par.
However, McIlroy is prone to throwing in a big score every year which has hurt his chances of winning the one major that has eluded him thus far in his career.
McIlroy has six rounds of 77 over the years and just over a third of his 58 rounds have been over par. Only two of Scheffler's 20 rounds have been 73 or more.
Scheffler is 2/1 with golf betting sites to shoot 71 or fewer in all four rounds this week.
