Golden Nugget Refreshes Michigan Casino App Look

One of the best-performing operators in the Great Lake State, Golden Nugget, rolled out its new casino app, now accessible to Michigan players via Google Play Store and App Store. The transition for current members is seamless, considering their information automatically migrated to the new app.

The new version offers a more significant redesign, bringing the appearance in tone with its parent company, DraftKings, which acquired Golden Nugget in 2022. This big gambling brand is slowly integrating Golden Nugget through shared aesthetics, Michigan online casino promotions, and a repertoire of casino games.

Aside from the layout and design, one of the most significant changes in the updated website and app is the elimination of the sportsbook, making Golden Nugget an exclusive online casino. Michigan players get redirected to the DraftKings Sportsbook, where they must open a new account and deposit funds to continue betting on sports events.

Golden Nugget used the latest casino app update to improve the efficiency of its online casino, which ranks as the 5th best platform among Michigan casinos online, according to Michigan Gaming Control Board revenue data.

Advantages of the New Version

The new Golden Nugget layout mirrors the look of DraftKings Casino, borrowing its darker tones and a similar font. Each section, such as promotions, lobby, cashier, and help center, is structured similarly. The logos are the most significant distinguishing aspect between both platforms.

The appearance is not the only segment that DraftKings influenced in the new app. Most of the games are spilling over from the DraftKings game library. Some titles in the table section bear the DraftKings name.

Michigan players already have access to these games via the DraftKings Casino, but previous members of Golden Nugget benefit from a significant influx of new titles.

Promotions are one area where the two platforms do not cross paths. The Michigan online casino no deposit bonus deals and welcome offers provide different values.

Experiencing Market Growth in Michigan

Golden Nugget Casino landed in the Wolverine State in 2021 via a partnership with Ojibwa Casino. Its performance was stable over the past three years, even before the acquisition by DraftKings. Last year, Golden Nugget recorded a 12.5% revenue growth year-on-year, with $81.7 million in online casino revenue for 2023.

In comparison, its parent company, DraftKings, brought in $364 million in revenue for 2023, ending the year as the third-best operator in the state. Interestingly, the combined DraftKings and Golden Nugget revenue is still far behind the Michigan market leader, BetMGM, with its $586 million.

Together, these two platforms can topple the second-best operator, FanDuel, which generated $405 million in revenue for 2023. Overall, Golden Nugget has maintained its position as the fifth-best online casino in the Great Lakes State, and support from DraftKings might improve its future performance and appeal among players.
