Michigan Casino Performance
Michigan is home to dozens of tribal casinos, although results from these venues are not reported by the state’s board.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board has released a report on the three casinos it oversees: the MGM Grand Detroit, MotorCity Casino, and Hollywood Casino at Greektown.
In terms of market share, MGM Grand Detroit holds 49% of the market, roughly in line with September. MotorCity Casino accounted for 29%, with Hollywood Casino at Greektown taking the remaining 22%.
Combined, the casinos generated $107.4m in revenue, up from $98.9m in September.
The $105.9m in table and slot game revenue was a 2.2% increase compared with the year before and a 7.9% improvement on September 2025.
MGM Grand Detroit saw the greatest improvement, adding 6.6% to October 2024’s figures and delivering $52.7m in revenue.
Despite having the lowest revenue figures, Hollywood Casino at Greektown also posted gains, with its $22.7m revenue representing a 0.8% annual increase.
MotorCity Casino actually saw a decline in revenue, with figures falling 3.8% to $30.5m in October 2025.
The increase in revenues meant the casinos paid slightly more in state gaming taxes compared to 2024. The three contributed $8.6m in October 25, an improvement from the $8.4m paid in the same period last year.
