Nebraska Casinos Rake In Record $261 Million In 2025

The casino industry in Nebraska delivered its strongest performance ever in 2025, establishing casino gaming as a growing and reliable source of economic value for the state just three years after the first casinos opened.

According to the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission, the five casinos in operation generated approximately $261million in total revenue last year, shattering the previous record set in 2024, when casino revenues totaled $145m.

Revenue in 2025 nearly tripled levels recorded in 2023, highlighting how quickly Nebraska’s casino market has matured since legal gaming launched in 2022.

The state’s five casinos, operating in Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island, Columbus and Ogallala, have rapidly expanded their footprint and customer base.

Much of the revenue growth has been driven by phased expansions and the addition of new gaming areas and amenities at existing properties.

As casinos introduced more gaming options, dining and entertainment offerings, they attracted a steadily growing number of visitors.

State gaming officials report no signs that this expansion-driven growth trend is slowing.

Tax Revenue And Market Leaders Drive Momentum

The two WarHorse casinos in Nebraska’s largest cities - Omaha and Lincoln - were the state’s top revenue producers.

Together, they generated approximately $177m in combined revenue in 2025, underscoring the impact of population density and increasing acceptance of casino gaming among local residents.

Casino revenue growth has also delivered significant benefits to state finances. Nebraska taxes casino gaming revenue at 20%, with most proceeds directed to the Property Tax Relief Fund (PTRF).

In 2025, casinos contributed more than $36m to the fund, helping ease the financial burden on homeowners through property tax relief supported directly by gaming taxes.

Supporters of casino gaming point to these tax contributions as proof that the industry has delivered on promises made when gaming was legalized.

They argue that casino taxes provide a dependable funding source without relying on income or sales taxes. Local governments and state agencies have also benefited through job creation and increased economic activity tied to casino operations.

Regulators continue to emphasize the importance of oversight as the industry grows.

The Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission monitors licensing, compliance, and revenue reporting to ensure controlled and transparent expansion.

With several casinos still in development phases, officials expect revenues to continue rising in the coming years.

The results from 2025 mark a turning point in Nebraska’s casino era. As more residents and visitors engage with casino gaming, the industry is playing an increasingly important role in the state’s long-term economic growth.
