One man who has been linked with a transfer for several weeks is Ilkay Gundogan, who is out of contract at Manchester City on June 30.

Barcelona are said to have tabled a three-year deal as they attempt to land one of the best midfielders of his generation.

There are two issues, though. One is the length of contract: Gundogan wants two years, but the club have only offered an additional 12 months for now. It will be interesting to see if Begiristain blinks.
The other is that, after winning the treble, Gundogan may conclude he has achieved everything he can in Manchester, and that the time has come for a new experience.

The City boss will not be able to do so this time, with Gundogan free to decide his own future as his contract will soon be up.
Arsenal look set to try their luck, but odds of 12/1 on BetVictor indicate they are outsiders in what looks like a two-horse race.
If Gundogan wants to remain in the Premier League he will probably just stay at City, where he is a guaranteed starter - unlike Jesus and Zinchenko before him.
