You can place futures bets on darts. Futures bets are wagers placed on events that will happen at some point later. These are bets on a more significant outcome that have yet to be decided. The odds are constantly in flux.
You can change your odds format at most betting sites, depending on your preference.
As the name suggests, American odds are commonly used in the U.S., giving you a triple-digit or higher number with either a minus or plus sign.
The whole American odds (or moneyline odds) system is based on betting $100.
The numbers next to a minus sign (-) tell you how much you must bet to win $100. The plus symbol (+) beside the numbers tells you how much you can win by betting $100.
The negative sign indicates the favourite, while the plus sign points to the underdog.
Professional darts is a sport of skill where competitors take turns throwing darts at a board to accumulate points.
Most professional matches are "501 up." This is the simplest of games. Each player starts with a score of 501 and takes turns to throw three darts. The score for each turn is calculated and deducted from the player's total. Bullseye scores 50, the outer ring scores 25, and a dart in the double or treble ring counts double or treble the segment score. The objective is to be the first player to reduce the score to exactly zero, the only caveat being that the last dart thrown must land in a double or the bullseye.
Then there’s cricket, which plays out differently. Instead of counting down, players focus on hitting certain numbers to “close” them off, while trying to rack up points if their opponent hasn’t done the same yet. The goal of cricket is to be the first player to close all the cricket numbers and have a higher point total.
