Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury Predictions:

YouTube star Jake Paul will put his unbeaten record on the line when he takes on British boxer Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia on Sunday night.

It promises to be an entertaining bout, and betting sites have released a wide range of markets on the action.

The Problem Child has won all six fights since making his debut in 2020, but they came against former MMA stars and basketball players.

This will be the first time he has faced a professional boxer, so it could prove to be the sternest challenge yet for the former Disney Channel star.

Fury is the younger brother of world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, and he is also unbeaten in his fledgling career.

He has more experience in the ring than Paul, and he was installed as the favourite to prevail when they were initially due to fight in Florida back in December 2021.

However, Fury pulled out of that fight with an injury, and he then withdrew from the rescheduled bout last year due to travel issues.

Since then, Paul has beaten former UFC legend Anderson Silva via unanimous decision, and he is now the odds-on favourite to beat Fury.

Can he get the job done, or will Fury’s years of training allow him to cause an upset at the Diriyah Arena?

Read on for our top tips on this match, which has been billed as ‘The Truth’.

Punt On The Fight To Go The Distance

This is a fight that neither man can afford to lose.

His promoter Eddie Hearn, an ever reliable source of pithy soundbites, summed up the Paul vs Fury fight nicely: “If Tommy Fury loses, it is genuinely the most embarrassing thing that could ever happen to him, and if Jake loses, his career’s over, so therefore it’s quite exciting.”

It would be hard to take Fury seriously as a professional boxer if he were to lose to a YouTuber, so it could spell the end of his career.

Meanwhile, his older brother has threatened to disown him or force him to drop the Fury name if he cannot beat Paul.

“If Tommy can’t splatter Jake Paul, I’ll retire him from boxing myself,” said Tyson Fury in one colourful outburst.

The stakes are high for the 23-year-old Manchester-based fighter, but defeat could also seriously derail Paul’s momentum.

He oozes confidence, which is part of his appeal, but that façade could fall away if he were to be embarrassed during his first real fight with a professional boxer.

As such, it could be a cagier affair than some fans are expecting, as both men will be keen to avoid suffering a humiliating knockout.

Fury outpointed Daniel Bocianski in his last fight, while Paul went the distance with Silva – the 47-year-old former UFC middleweight champion - so the 5/6 odds on the best online betting sites for boxing on this eight-round fight going the distance look appealing.

Can Fury Live Up To The Hype?

John Fury was unequivocal in backing his son to wipe the floor with The Problem Child in Saudi Arabia this weekend.

“Tommy will destroy Jake Paul, he’ll be laughing when he’s going to the ring, because it’s easy money, easy fighting,” Fury said in an interview with TalkSport.

“Tommy is a world class fighter, and he’ll prove it, don’t take my word for it, switch on the TV.

“I’ve never been wrong yet. If Tommy was going to embarrass me, he wouldn’t be in the fight game. Remember that.”

Paul has been working with some of America’s top trainers over the past couple of years, so he can no longer be written off as a novelty act.

However, Fury has been boxing since a young age, so he should have the sort of muscle memory that sets him apart from Paul, who only fell into the sport a few years ago.

He is far from an elite fighter, and he has never been in the ring with anyone of note, but he has shown flashes of promise in his previous bouts.

They appear to be quite evenly matched, so it is difficult to justify Paul’s status as the odds-on favourite.

The YouTuber is as short as 4/7 with some Irish bookmakers - making the longer odds of 6/5 with BetVictor on Fury look more appealing right now.

Back Over 6.5 Rounds

Tommy Fury

The total rounds line has been set at 6.5, which is understandable when you consider that it is only an eight-round bout.

Both of Paul’s showdowns with Tyson Woodley went over 6.5 rounds, while Fury’s last three fights were decided on points.

Over 6.5 rounds is a tempting bet, even if the odds of 4/6 with Bet365 are a little short.

If it goes to a decision, the losing fighter can claim he was robbed, setting the stage for more trash talking and a lucrative rematch further down the line.
