England manager Gareth Southgate is now fully focused on Euro 2024 with the 53-year-old expected to lead the Three Lions into a fourth major tournament this summer.

UK betting sites have the latest odds on who will be included in Southgate’s squad for the tournament in Germany and some could face a struggle to make the cut.

Under Southgate, England reached the final of Euro 2020 and are among the favourites to go the distance at Euro 2024.

In an exclusive interview with Gambling.com, former Three Lions defender Paul Parker said he feels this could be England's year to win the European Championship for the first time ever.

"Given how Europe is quite weak now, there has to be a good chance (that England can win it)," Parker said.

"Many, many years ago, the hardest tournament to win was the Euros, because all of the best teams (in the world), or the majority of them, came from Europe.

"But we’re seeing now that the major countries are quite weak. The Spanish are quite young at the moment, and quite inconsistent in certain ways.

"The Italians are struggling. The Germans as we know are having a horrendous time, their game's gone backwards at the moment. Defensively they’re poor, they’ve lost their way.

"This is England’s best chance of winning a tournament."

We have rounded up the players who are all but certain to be included in Southgate’s squad, those who still have to make their case and those who could come from left field to earn a seat on the plane.

Goalkeepers

Jordan Pickford (1/16) has been Southgate’s first-choice goalkeeper since his appointment as England manager in 2016, with the Everton shot-stopper expected to be the Three Lions’ number one at Euro 2024.

Aaron Ramsdale (4/11) may have fell down the pecking order at Arsenal, but Nick Pope's continued absence due to a dislocated shoulder, means Ramsdale is the second keeper most likely to be on the plane according to football betting sites.

The injury to Pope has seen his price drift to 7/2, which is still someway ahead of fifth favourite Dean Henderson who is 8/1 to be given the nod.

Sam Johnstone is therefore the third favourite to take the last goalkeeper spot at 2/5. But even if he makes the England squad for Euro 2024, it’s unlikely that he will feature.

The Dead Certs

Three outfield players are priced at 1/10 or shorter with BetVictor to make the squad: Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka.

Four more - Declan Rice, Jack Grealish, Kyle Walker and Phil Foden - are priced between 1/6 and 1/8, while John Stones, Harry Maguire, Kieran Trippier and Trent Alexander-Arnold (1/4 or 1/5) also look set to join them in Germany.

Defenders

Levi Colwill (11/8) has now fell behind Chelsea teammate Ben Chilwell (1/2) in the eyes of Bet365 when it comes to competing for a spot on the left side of the defence.

Jarrad Branthwaite (1/2) is the biggest market mover after a solid season with Everton. The 21-year-old earned a first international call-up for England's friendlies with Brazil and Belgium.

Marc Guehi is priced at 11/10 to make Southgate’s squad, while Lewis Dunk can be backed at 6/5 after impressing at the heart of Brighton's defence for the past 18 months or so.

Ezri Konsa (11/4) made his first appearance for the Three Lions in the recent 1-0 defeat to Brazil, but the centre-back was not selected for the 2022 World Cup by Southgate and may miss out again.

Manchester United's Luke Shaw can be found at 6/4 on betting apps, while Liverpool’s Joe Gomez is now odds-on at 4/6 to board the plane.

During our exclusive chat with Parker, the former Three Lions full-back expressed his desire for Reece James to be given the role of right-back this summer.

"I would love to go with Reece James (as starting England right back at the Euros)," Parker told Gambling.com.

"The problem with Reece is, if he gets back before the end of the season, great, because he’ll improve Chelsea.

"But can you take him away to a Euros, because he seems to play two or three games and then get injured again.

“I would have him (James) at right back and then maybe think about playing Walker inside, as a right-sided centre-half, so you’d have two good players in wide areas that could alternate.

“If he’s going to have a covering right back I would go with Trippier, without a shadow of a doubt. Trippier’s a very good right back, but can play and be a decent left back as well. They’d be the three players that I would have.”

Alexander-Arnold hasn’t always been one of Southgate’s favourites, but the Liverpool right-back is still widely expected to be an important part of England’s squad for Euro 2024, potentially replacing James (3/1) as Trippier's main challenger.

Midfielders

Declan Rice

Rice has made himself the anchor in England’s midfield unit under Southgate and this is reflected in his price of 1/6 to be included in the squad for this summer’s Euros.

He looks set to join Bellingham (1/12) in midfield who has made a sensational start to life at Real Madrid with the 20-year-old already something of a leader for club and country.

Kalvin Phillips was Rice’s midfield partner for England at Euro 2020 and the 28-year-old has remained part of the picture at international level despite barely featuring for Manchester City.

But, after making little impact during his loan move to West Ham for the rest of the season, he's now 3/1 to be included.

After a torrid time in Saudi Arabia, Jordan Henderson completed a move to Ajax in January, as he hopes to be included in Southgate's squad potentially for the last time. The 33-year-old is 1/2 with Coral to make the cut.

Conor Gallagher is priced at 2/5 and Curtis Jones can be backed at 5/1, but it is 18-year-old Kobbie Mainoo who is stealing all the headlines recently, and his impressive performances for Manchester United have seen him narrow to odds of just 4/6.

Attacking Midfielders/Wingers

Saka (1/10) has been a consistent performer for England over the last two years and has the ability to produce a match-winning moment from his usual position on the right side of the Three Lions’ attack, so his inclusion looks inevitable.

Rashford is generally seen as a left-sided attacker by Southgate and the Manchester United forward is priced at 4/11 to go to Germany.

Foden (1/8) has been the subject of much discussion as an England player with many of the belief that the Manchester City playmaker should be a more integral figure for the Three Lions.

Grealish (4/6) is another City winger with an important role to play for England, while James Maddison is priced at 2/5 to make the Euro 2024 squad after settling at Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Cole Palmer has enjoyed a positive start to life at Chelsea on a personal level, even if his side are languishing around mid-table.

The Blues top scorer is a 2/5 shot to appear at a first major tournament with England this summer.

West Ham's Jarrod Bowen is priced at 6/5, while Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze is available at 10/3 to be selected.

Anthony Gordon could be an outside bet to be picked by Southgate at 13/8, while Raheem Sterling is offered at 12/1 to force his way back into the England fold for Euro 2024.

Strikers

England captain Kane (1/20) will, barring injury or suspension, lead the line for the Three Lions at Euro 2024 as the top scorer in the national team's history.

Beyond Kane, Ollie Watkins could earn himself a place as Southgate’s leading deputy centre forward.

The Aston Villa striker, priced at 1/3 to be included in the squad for Euro 2024, has 26 goal contributions in 29 league matches for the Villans this season.

Southgate could use Rashford as a centre forward, but the 26-year-old hasn’t always looked comfortable playing through the middle for club and country.

This could leave a spot open for a third out-and-out striker with Brentford's Ivan Toney priced at 11/10 to go to the Euros, while Bournemouth frontman Dominic Solanke (6/1) could sneak a spot.
