Paul Nicholls might have been usurped by his Irish counterparts in recent Cheltenham Festival meetings, although he remains a prominent trainer and that could see Harry Cobden in the winners’ enclosure on more than one occasion.
Cobden was able to notch two victories 12 months ago and has some interesting rides for the 2024 renewal, with the rider triumphing on Stage Star and Stay Away Fay.
The pair will return to the fray this time around bidding for further success at Prestbury Park.

Top Five Cheltenham Festival Chances
Stay Away Fay – Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase – 2.10 Wednesday
Fact To File could take all the beating in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase according to the latest odds on betting sites, although Stay Away Fay is trading as second favourite and trainer Nicholls believes that we haven’t yet seen the best of this runner.
The horse might pitch up for this race with improved fitness and there was plenty to like about his run over hurdles 12 months ago when scoring a victory in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle.
There have been subsequent chasing wins at Exeter and Sandown this season, with Cobden having high hopes of saddling the winner of this race.
Teeshan – Champion Bumper – 5.30 Wednesday
This year’s Champion Bumper looks to be a wide open encounter according to Cheltenham odds. Although there is typically strong Irish contingent lining up, Teeshan could be the one who ends up landing the spoils.
The five-year-old has won on both outings to date, landing a seven-length victory at Exeter last time out, when getting the better of nine other runners. Maughreen and Jasmin De Vaux could be the main dangers this time around.
Ginny’s Destiny – Turners Novices’ Chase – 1.30 Thursday
Although Harry Cobden claims that Stay Away Fay and Stage Star represent his best chances of success at the Cheltenham Festival, there is plenty to recommend Ginny’s Destiny who is currently favourite on betting apps to win the Turners Novices’ Chase.
The eight-year-old has landed a consecutive hat-trick of successes this season and they have all been at Cheltenham, with the most recent triumph coming in the Timeform Novices' Handicap Chase on January 27.

Stage Star – Ryanair Chase – 2.50 Thursday
Stage Star might have been disappointing in his previous outing, although jockey Harry Cobden remains bullish about his chances when it comes to this Group 1 encounter on Day Three of the Cheltenham meeting.
After all, the horse obliged as the 4/1 favourite in the Paddy Power Gold Cup when landing a four-length victory, with Cobden maintaining that his charge would be market leader for the Ryanair but for being pulled up on New Year’s Day.

Bravemansgame – Gold Cup – 3.30 Friday
Cobden has high hopes for Bravemansgame, who was second in last year’s Gold Cup when finishing seven lengths behind eventual winner Galopin Des Champs.
He was sent off at 7/1 although looks set to be roughly twice this price for the 2024 renewal and it’s hard to be too optimistic about the horse’s chances.
The nine-year-old has finished second in all three outings this season and not shown the necessary form to suggest that he can usurp his rivals in the biggest race of the Festival, despite finishing ahead of favourite Allaho in the King George VI Chase.
