19:10 Bellewstown: Ennoble - 1pt Win @ 5/1
Ennoble’s seasonal debut didn’t go to plan when unseating his rider coming out of the stalls, but with better luck I think he has a good chance of breaking his maiden in this five-furlong contest.
Having shown ability while looking in need of a drop back in trip on his first two starts over six furlongs, he ran very well in defeat at Cork when racing over five furlongs for the first time.
He raced on the far side of the group and his chance wasn’t helped when Sceitimini shifted right just as Ennoble was being switched out to make his effort on his right.
That left him with a bit of ground to make up on the leading trio and he closed on them, but never looked like getting to the winner and was beaten just under a length in third.
I’m not sure the ground that day was ideal for Ennoble and that looked to certainly be the case on his final start of the year at Navan when running poorly.
The return to better ground this evening looks a positive for his chance and this is the easiest opportunity that he’s had so far to get off the mark.
There is a slight doubt that he might not be the most hearty under pressure and it could be that this track ends up being a bit too sharp for him, but I think his class puts him in with a good chance and any 4/1 or bigger appeals.
