England vs Australia Predictions:

When: Saturday, November 4, 19.30 AEST

Where: Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad

Watch: Sky Sports

Best Odds: England 2.38, Australia 1.57

Five-time Cricket World Cup winners Australia face the reigning champions England at India’s Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, and from what has been seen of the two teams so far, it is hard to see anything other than a win for the men from Down Under.

Betting sites have Australia at 1.57, with England on offer at 2.38. For two teams at different ends of the spectrum, it is hard to fathom why Australia's price is not much shorter.

There is no escaping from the fact that the England team have been shockingly poor at this World Cup.

A lonely win against a lowly Bangladesh is all they have to show from their six matches played in the event.

High-Flying Aussies To Send England Packing

It is not just that England has not been winning; they have failed even to complete an innings in four of their matches.

They have also fallen woefully short of what is needed in their batting totals, failing even to tickle the 200-run mark in their latest three games.

Realistically, although there is the remotest of possibilities that they can make the semi-finals, England will be playing for nothing more than pride on Saturday. With no love lost between the two teams, Australia will take great pleasure in further piling on the agony.

They are number two behind India in the ODI Rankings, with England four places lower, and the Aussie team - who will face Afghanistan and Bangladesh in their final two matches - know a win against England will almost certainly secure them a place in the semi-finals in a couple of weeks.

Australia lost their opening two World Cup matches against the unbeaten Indian side and a rampant South African team before registering a comfortable win over Sri Lanka.

In their three matches since, they have had the scoreboard working overtime with knocks of 367 against Pakistan, 399 when playing the Netherlands and 388 runs against a high-flying New Zealand team in the highest-scoring match in World Cup history.

As things stand, there is a gulf between Australia and England in this World Cup (even if the odds on cricket betting sites don't show it), and we have no hesitation in taking the Australians to send England packing.

Tip: Australia To Win The Match - 1.62 with Bet365

Australian Batters To Hit England For Six

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who hit a World Cup record-breaking 40-ball century against the Netherlands last week, was ruled out of the game against England after falling from a golf buggy on Monday, suffering a concussion.

It is a blow for the Aussies, but the return of Travis Head in last week’s game against New Zealand will ensure they have a strong batting line-up to face the English bowlers.

Head, who missed the first five matches for Australia with a fractured hand, was in a hurry on his return - smashing 50 runs off 25 balls on his way to a magnificent innings of 109.

He will be a popular choice to be Australia’s top scorer in the match and is priced at a fairly attractive 4.5.

However, with several Australian batsmen capable of clocking up big scores, taking an interest in the Team of Top Batsman market may prove a safer option.

The 1.6 offered by Bluebet is not particularly on the generous side, but if England crumbles at the crease again, it could be a shoo-in for the Aussie team.

Zampa Can Take Bowling Honours

The top bowler markets are always tricky, but the 4.0 on show with bookies for Adam Zampa to take the most wickets for Australia in the match is tempting enough.

He has been in superb form, especially in the latest three matches, and a three or four-wicket haul may prove enough.
