Nebraska Casino Revenue Jumps 46.5% To $25.9m In January

Nebraska’s commercial casino market delivered a strong start to the year, generating $25.9million in revenue in January, a 46.5% increase from the previous year, according to the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission.

The surge reflects continued expansion as the state’s emerging casino industry gains momentum.

Growth was largely fueled by new permanent properties and expanded gaming floors.

Slot machines remained the primary revenue driver, producing $21.6m statewide - an increase of roughly 50% year over year.

Table game revenue rose 38% to $2.5m, while electronic table games contributed more than $750,000.

Retail sports betting revenue topped $1m as wagering options continued to expand.

Permanent Casinos Power Revenue Gains

Revenue gains coincided with the transition from temporary venues to full-scale casinos featuring larger gaming floors, more slot machines, expanded table capacity and enhanced amenities.

These upgrades allow operators to attract new visitors and extend player engagement.

Grand Island Casino posted one of the strongest performances among Nebraska’s five casinos.

“Nebraska’s January surge shows how infrastructure investment and permanent casino openings are transforming the state’s gaming market, driving slot-led growth while intensifying competition in an evolving industry landscape.”

Its permanent facility, which opened last year, generated $4.9m in January - up 68.7% from the previous year.

Slot revenue at the property climbed more than 75%, underscoring rapid growth in gaming demand.

WarHorse Casino Omaha led the state with $9.7m in January revenue, marking growth of more than 50% since moving into its permanent location.

WarHorse Casino Lincoln also recorded double-digit gains, reflecting statewide momentum as facilities expand and competition intensifies.

Diversification & Digital Competition

As more properties evolve into full-service destinations, Nebraska’s gaming mix is becoming more diverse. While slots still account for the majority of revenue, rising table game and sports betting activity show broader consumer engagement.

At the same time, players nationwide continue exploring digital options, including the best online casinos, adding competitive pressure to retail operators.

Although retail casinos dominate Nebraska’s current gaming landscape, broader industry trends suggest increasing crossover interest in the best online slots, particularly as players seek convenience and variety beyond physical venues.

January’s results demonstrate that infrastructure investment is driving measurable returns.

As permanent casinos expand and enhance their offerings, operators appear committed to reinvesting in facilities to sustain growth and elevate the customer experience across the state.
