Cheltenham Festival 2025 Odds: East India Dock And Lulamba Set For Friday Duel

In time-honoured fashion, the JCB Triumph Hurdle gets Day Four of the Cheltenham Festival underway.

This is a Grade One encounter run over two miles, one furlong, with some talented four-year-olds battling it out in a race which always takes plenty of winning.

Vauban, Lossiemouth and Majborough are some notable recent winners, and according to betting sites, East India Dock could follow in their footsteps this time around.

James Owen saddles a juvenile who has demonstrated his credentials at Cheltenham twice, with the latest success coming by ten lengths in a trial for this race.

This came after previously scoring at Prestbury Park as the 4/5 favourite in November, with trainer Owen feeling bullish about his chances in the race, and the horse has the highest official rating in this encounter.

“I wouldn't swap him for any other horse in the Triumph,” said Owen. “Burdett Road is a better horse, but this one has run only three times, and he could go by him.

"What I like about him is he stays well and he's uncomplicated. He's got a huge future.”

Lulamba is battling for favouritism with betting apps. Trained by Nicky Henderson, he’s produced a couple of smart performances in his fledgling career to date.

The latest came at Ascot in mid-January, where the 4/5 favourite was able to win by three and a half lengths.

It was a victory that surprised Henderson, considering that the horse was giving away weight to some decent contenders.

"It looked like an impossible task," Henderson said afterwards. "I was prepared to get beat today because of the hype, but we've got to eat humble pie a bit because the hype appeared correct.”

That was over one mile, seven and a half lengths, with Mondo Man beaten into second place, although this is far from a two-horse race.

Hello Neighbour could represent each-way value with horse racing betting sites, and the Gavin Cromwell-trained charge was able to score at Leopardstown last time out when obliging in a Grade One juvenile hurdle.
