Danny Mullins Runners, Odds and Entries

While Danny Mullins might not have the pick of uncle Willie’s horses at the Cheltenham Festival this week, he’s still a very capable rider who will be looking to secure a winner or two at Prestbury Park.

After all, there are plenty of second string runners from that stable which still stand a lively chance of victory, with the jockey landing the first three Grade 1s at the Dublin Racing Festival last month on Dancing City, Kargese and Il Etait Temps.

Cheltenham Offers

Danny Mullins Top Five Cheltenham Festival 2024 Chances

Il Etait Temps – Arkle Novices Chase – 2.10 Tuesday

Paul Townend goes on Gaelic Warrior, Daryl Jacob will ride Hunters Yarn although perhaps it’s Il Etait Temps which will give Willie Mullins a victory in the Arkle.

The trainer has the first three in the market on betting apps and there’s little to split the runners from an odds perspective.

Perhaps the latter will come good for Danny Mullins who is reunited with a horse aboard whom he triumphed at the Dublin Racing Festival.

The six-year-old was able to record a victory when edging out Found A Fifty, with this coming after finishing second to Gaelic Warrior over the festive period, although perhaps the placings can be reversed this time around.

Miss Manzor – Boodles Juvenile Handicap Hurdle – 4.50 Tuesday

Miss Manzor is among the top weights for the Boodles, although her odds suggest that she has a lively each-way chance in what looks to be a wide open encounter.

The four-year-old has recorded two wins from three starts this season, with the latest victory coming against six other runners at Fairyhouse.

Sent off as the 6/4 favourite for that January encounter, it was a victory by over two lengths going over two miles on soft ground.

Nevertheless, it’s a highly competitive race on Day One of the meeting, with trainer Willie Mullins also having Batman Girac in the same race, while Milan Tino could go off as favourite.

Predators Gold – Gallagher Novices Hurdle – 1.30 Wednesday

Ballyburn is among the Cheltenham bankers of the meeting for many, with the horse having swerved the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle to line up in this longer-distance opener on Day Two.

However, we have seen short-priced favourites on horse racing betting sites to be found wanting at the Festival before, with stablemate Predators Gold waiting in the wings should this happen.

Although Danny Mullins may well look to ride this horse for a place, he is third favourite out of eight horses that are set to go to post, with the five-year-old finishing second at the Dublin Racing Festival to Dancing City, the latter being ridden by this actual jockey.

You Oughta Know – Champion Bumper – 5.30 Wednesday

This season’s Champion Bumper looks to be an open contest, with Danny Mullins picking up the ride of You Outta Know and this horse could well be in the final shake-up.

There’s not a huge amount of form from which to feed when it comes to any of the runners lining up in the only flat race of the Festival.

Although, Mullins’ ride has won twice and the six-year-old was last seen finishing second in a Future Stars race at the Dublin Racing Festival.

Kargese – Triumph Hurdle – 1.30 Friday

According to Cheltenham betting odds, Sir Gino may be the short-priced favourite to win the JCB Triumph Hurdle on Day One of the Cheltenham Festival, but Willie Mullins has a number of horses that could lay siege to the market leader and this includes Kargese.

Danny Mullins was on board the horse when it won a Grade One race at the Dublin Racing Festival and there was plenty to like about that Juvenile Hurdle success which saw the runner beat favourite Storm Heart over two miles on soft ground.
