Rachael Blackmore Booked Rides & Odds

Rachael Blackmore is already racing royalty, with the 34-year-old having 14 Cheltenham Festival winners to her name.

This includes a Gold Cup success onboard A Plus Tard in 2022, with the female jockey having also claimed two Champion Hurdles with Honeysuckle.

Blackmore will have an enviable book of rides when it comes to the 2024 Festival, with many of them courtesy of trainer Henry de Bromhead.

Rachael Blackmore Top Five Cheltenham Festival 2024 Chances

Slade Steel – Supreme Novices Hurdle - 1.30 Tuesday

Rachael Blackmore stands a strong chance of landing a victory when it comes to the Supreme Novices Hurdle, with Slade Steel trading among the favourites to triumph over two miles.

Henry de Bromhead saddles a six-year-old who has landed two wins this season, with those coming at Naas and Navan. More recently, there was a runner-up spot behind Gallagher favourite Ballyburn at the Dublin Racing Festival.

Telmesomethinggirl – Mares’ Hurdle - 4.10 Tuesday

According to betting sites, Lossiemouth is the one they all have to beat in this Day One encounter, although Blackmore will hope that Telmesomethinggirl can hit the frame in this race over two miles and four furlongs.

The nine-year-old will need to improve on her outings this season, with the horse finishing well off the pace at Leopardstown in December, with her latest outing being a runner-up spot in a field of four horses at Naas.

Captain Guinness – Champion Chase - 3.30 Wednesday

Although we could see leading pair El Fabiolo and Jonbon battling it out for victory in the Queen Mother Champion Chase, Rachael Blackmore will be aiming to hit the frame with Captain Guinness.

It’s often the case that the placed horses in a race such as this one are patiently ridden with an eye on the prize money, with Captain Guinness having finished second in this race 12 months ago when finishing 10 lengths behind Energumene.

Minella Indo – Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase - 4:10 Wednesday

Perhaps Rachael’s best chance of winning at the Cheltenham Festival comes in the form of the Cross Country Chase, with Blackmore on board a horse who has been a previous Gold Cup winner.

The 11-year-old made his Cross Country bow at Cheltenham in December when finishing fourth out of 13 runners, with De Bromhead expecting Minella Indo to come on for that performance when it comes to the Festival.

Envoi Allen - Ryanair Chase - 2.50 Thursday

Blackmore was successful on board Envoi Allen 12 months ago in the Ryanair Chase and the Cheltenham odds think there’s a reasonable chance that the pair could reunite to deliver the goods this time around.

Henry de Bromhead’s charge beat Shishkin in the 2023 Ryanair Chase and there was plenty to like about the horse’s performance in November at Down Royal. On that occasion, just a neck separated him from Gold Cup pretender Gerri Colombe.
